Why did the police escort ‘Jackass’ star Bam Margera to rehab?
One of the greatest experiments reality TV ever gave to audiences is coming back with a vengeance. If you clicked here, you know what we’re talking about – a new Jackass movie is just months away. Jackass was massive during the early 2000s when the first two movies from the hit MTV show came out, but the dudes behind the show made an everlasting impact on their fans.
Folks have followed Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, and the rest of the Jackass gang after the show ended and the third Jackass movie stopped playing in theaters. The lovable bunch of pranking injured maniacs have gone on to similar ventures to Jackass, or simply moved on to show their fans their lives on social media. One thing they all have in common is their promotion for the upcoming fourth Jackass movie.
However, not everyone is getting the same treatment in the new film. If you’ve been following the Jackass news, you know Bam Margera won’t be joining his (former) BFFs in the new movie. Here’s the latest.
If you’re as stoked as we are for the fourth Jackass movie, Jackass Forever, you’ve been following the boys on social media, and kept up with the details on the movie. Furthermore, you know the unfortunate news saying Bam Margera won’t be appearing in the upcoming Jackass movie.
Bam Margera displayed several public meltdowns on social media, before & following his boot from the film. Margera sits squarely atop the Jackass Mount Rushmore with Knoxville, Steve-O, and Chris Pontius, so it’s hard to imagine a Jackass movie without the former pro skater.
Gossip rags and celebrity tea Instagram pages have captured many of Bam’s public outcries, saying he was treated unfairly by his former friends who made the fourth Jackass movie happen.
Bam Margera has gone after Jackass movie director Jeff Tremaine and producers Johnny Knoxville & Spike Jonze for allegedly cutting him out of the fourth movie. Margera claims he was forced to complete certain tasks during filming associated with his mental health & sobriety which led him to be tossed from the film.
As celebrity gossip reporters continue to publicize Margera and his struggles with mental health & substance abuse, new info has come rolling in this week, from the mother of all paparazzi publications, TMZ.
Back to rehab
TMZ reported on Tuesday that Bam Margera was taken to rehab via police escort on Sunday morning. It all went down in western Florida at the Don CeSar Resort Hotel in St. Pete Beach. Reports say police showed up to the hotel responding to a call about an emotionally distressed person.
The police were also responding to a court order which said to send Margera to rehab. The police escorted Bam to rehab, but he wasn’t arrested in the process and doesn’t currently face any charges.
Reports say this won’t be Margera’s first time going to rehab, and TMZ points to Bam’s recent struggles with mental health & substance abuse. These events have bled into Bam’s personal life, as reports say Bam’s wife recently asked for custody of the couple’s three year-old son Phoenix Wolf.
However, this recent trip to rehab might be the most effective for Bam Margera yet. Reports say Bam recently has been working with a counselor in Florida who has spent time helping those of a similar rockstar lifestyle, like AC/DC’s Brian Johnson and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler.
It’s hard to say what’s next for Bam Margera, but we can only hope his latest stint in rehab will provide the Jackass star with some clarity. Fans are bummed we won’t see Bam in Jackass Forever, but we can only hope he’ll be ready when Jackass five rolls around.
