What do you do once you've conquered the music industry? If you're Ariana Grande, you create R.E.M. – your very own beauty line. Learn all about it here!

Does Ariana Grande’s new beauty brand R.E.M. mean she’s retiring from music?

What can Ariana Grande not do at this point? That’s certainly a great question, especially after the talented singer recently announced the launch of her brand new beauty line to her millions of fans. The beauty line, titled R.E.M., has been teased by Ariana Grande to all her fans in the past weeks, and now you can finally see what the company will have for sale. Check out all the products and details on the new line here.

The very exciting announcement

In Allure’s October 2021 issue, singer Ariana Grande finally released the first products from her brand new cosmetic line R.E.M. Beauty, and we’ll admit that they look absolutely amazing so far. The star said to the mag: “Coveting the secret for the past two years and having testers and samplers in my purse, and people asking me, ‘Oh, I love your highlight, what are you wearing?’ And me being, like, ‘I don’t know’, sweating”. Ariana Grande admitted about the R.E.M. Beauty line that “It was so hard to keep a secret for this long”. But now, she can finally share all of the new and exciting products that she’s been hiding from her fans for so long, and the drops so far look absolutely amazing. The beauty line will release products in drops, and will start off by releasing eye products that have all been prepared and approved by the singer herself. The eye products for the R.E.M. Beauty line will include everything from gorgeous liner to liquid shadows, glitters, mascara, and eyelashes that will imitate the iconic cat-eye shape Ariana Grande is known for with her own eye make-up. We don’t have any other details on just when the actual release date for this line will be, or the details on what the prices will look like or the actual shades, but we’re so excited to hear more about it.

Inspirations for style

The “Positions” singer also excited fans some more by expressing that a tingling lip gloss was going to drop very soon as well. Ariana Grande also shared that the R.E.M. Beauty line was heavily inspired by stars such as Nancy Sinatra, Barbarella, and other huge icons from the decade of the 60s. She also said that this project was something she had been working on and keeping under wraps for the past two years. We love that for her! When speaking of her inspirations, she said: “I’ve always sort of gravitated towards the ‘50s and ‘60s and ‘70s for glamour references. I’ve always pictured myself in a different time period. I’ve always wanted to wear that makeup, wear that hair, wear those outfits, be those performers”. When reflecting on all of the other stars & singers that have recently dipped their toes into the beauty industry as well – from Kim Kardashian all the way to Rihanna, Kylie Jenner, or Halsey – Ariana Grande expressed that while the field is quite “crowded”, she’s sure there’s enough space for everyone. She said to Allure magazine: “I’ve thought a lot about this, of course, because I don’t want to just hop onto any bandwagons ever”. “I think that … I wear my peers’ makeup as well, just like I listen to their music”, she said. “I’m not going to say, ‘Oh, there’s too many female artists.’ I love and I’m [a] huge fan of my peers that do both, and I think that it’s just another way to tell stories. Because you can never have enough makeup, just like you can never have enough music”, Ariana Grande added. Well, does her going into beauty mean she’s taking a break from music? We certainly hope not, and it doesn’t seem like she’ll be backing down from making music anytime soon. After all, she has always proved that she is a woman of many talents, so we trust we’ll be getting beauty products from the star while also jamming out to her new hits.

Brand Growth and Collections

Brand Growth and Collections

Since that first November 2021 launch as Chapter 1: Ultraviolet, R.E.M. Beauty has rolled out multiple themed collections that expand far beyond the original eye-focused lineup. Dreamglow arrived in January 2025, followed by Starlet in April, Sweet Heat in August, and the Wicked For Good collaboration in October. Each drop adds new textures and color stories while staying true to the space-age glamour and vintage references Grande outlined in her 2021 interview. The range now covers full-face options, including foundations, blushes, bronzers, and an expanded lip category that includes balms and glosses. Fans who once waited for website drops can track each release through the brand’s social channels and official site, where ingredients and vegan, cruelty-free formulas are listed upfront.

Music Career Milestones Since Launch

Music Career Milestones Since Launch

Any early speculation that the beauty venture might signal a retreat from music has been answered by the work itself. Eternal Sunshine dropped in March 2024 and opened at number one on the Billboard 200. Grande also recorded tracks for the Wicked soundtrack that accompanied the film’s 2024 release and its 2025 follow-up. In 2026 she is scheduled to release her eighth studio album, Petal. The timeline shows a clear pattern: album cycles, film scores, and beauty launches running in tandem rather than in competition. Grande has spoken publicly about future tour plans, describing a compact 2026 run that some outlets have labeled a potential last hurrah before any longer break, yet the music pipeline remains active.

Retail Expansion and Availability

What began as a direct-to-consumer site now sits on Ulta Beauty shelves across the United States, with Ulta Beauty World locations slated for 2026. In 2025 the line entered Sephora Europe, giving customers outside the original U.S. market easier access to the full catalog. In-store testers and displays allow shoppers to try the Ultraviolet eye products alongside newer complexion and lip formulas without waiting for online restocks. The move into established retail channels mirrors the path taken by other artist-founded brands, yet R.E.M. Beauty keeps its distinct 1960s-inspired packaging and shade naming intact.

Tie-Ins with Acting Projects

Grande’s film work has directly shaped recent product releases. The October 2025 Wicked For Good collection features Ozian-inspired packaging and shade names drawn from the second installment of the franchise. Emerald greens, bubblegum pinks, and metallic finishes reference the film’s color palette while fitting the dreamy, retro-futurist aesthetic that has defined the brand since its debut. These limited-edition sets function as both collectibles for fans and a bridge between Grande’s acting schedule and her beauty audience, extending the storytelling approach she described in the original Allure conversation.

Four years after the first eye-product drop, R.E.M. Beauty operates as a steady extension of Ariana Grande’s creative output rather than a detour. Collections continue to arrive with consistent thematic threads, retail doors keep opening, and new music remains on the calendar. The 2021 Allure quotes about 1960s glamour and peer collaboration still read as the foundation for everything that has followed, proving the initial vision scaled without losing its core references. Fans tracking both the music and makeup sides of her career now have concrete dates and product names to follow instead of waiting on vague future plans.
