A cardboard cutout of Ana de Armas was first seen over the summer in the possession of Ben Affleck’s kids, whom the actor shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. In June, The Daily Mail reported witnessing Affleck’s three young children, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel, playing around with the life-sized cardboard cutout of their father’s then-girlfriend.
The cardboard cutout was life-sized and showed the Knives Out breakout star lying on her stomach with her feet up in the air. A huge smile was plastered over her face as her head rested on her hand. People reported the children also placed the cutout in front of Affleck’s home while spending time with the actress over the summer and even used it to play a prank on their father.
Just like the two Hollywood stars, their cardboard cutouts also seem to be headed for splitsville. On Monday, when news broke that Ana de Armas & Ben Affleck had officially called it quits, the Daily Mail caught the same life-size cutout of de Armas being thrown out in a garbage bin outside of Affleck’s Los Angeles home. Photos showed that it took two people successfully to stuff the cutout in.
All about the break up
Ana de Armas & Ben Affleck were just weeks shy away from making it to their first anniversary, so why did the couple decide to end things? Sources confirmed that there were no petty drama or big blow-ups, rather just a mature & mutual agreement between the two stars.
“Ben and Ana’s friendship has not ended. They still talk regularly,” a source confirmed to People. “This is something that was mutual and something that is completely amicable. They are in different points in their lives; there is deep love and respect there.”
“Ben continues to want to work on himself. He has three jobs lined up and he’s a solid father at home. They are both happy with where they are in their lives.” People also reported that the two had called their relationship quits over the phone.
Another source added that a major issue behind their problems were their plans for the future, saying: “Ben is no longer dating Ana. She broke it off. Their relationship was complicated. Ana doesn’t want to be Los Angeles based and Ben obviously has to since his kids live in Los Angeles.”
Per another source from ET, when Ana de Armas & Ben Affleck were together, their relationship was quite blissful before problems started, explaining that the couple “had little arguments and bickered like any couple but ultimately the relationship just wasn’t working in the way they both wanted it to anymore. This was a mutual decision”.
“They both have a lot of love and respect for each other, but it was time for them to move on,” the source expressed. “At the end of the day he chose to be the dad he continues to want to be. Unfortunately they are in different places in their lives.”
