Did Iggy Azalea witness Britney Spears’s father being abusive?

As social media and fans from all around the world continue to demand justice for pop star Britney Spears from her father and the rest of her family, rapper Iggy Azalea has stepped forward to share a few statements in her defense. On Wednesday, Iggy Azalea shared some words on social media emphasizing the importance of this fight and even admitted she witnessed some “abusive” behavior. Let’s take a look at the details here.

Speaking up

Through the release of documentaries, articles from the press, and accounts from Britney Spears and those closest to her, the world has become fully aware of just how strained the pop star’s relationship with her father and the rest of the family has become as she remains under conservatorship. Now, it seems that even a few other celebrities have stepped in to fight for her justice and freedom.

Stars everywhere have been speaking out about her rights as Britney Spears and her father continue on with their ongoing trial regarding her conservatorship. High-profile figures from Andy Cohen, Keke Palmer, Mariah Carey, Halsey, Vera Wang, Miley Cyrus, Will.i.am, Ashley Benson, Kim Kardashian, Jon Bon Jovi, and many more. Heck, even ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake spoke up on his support for her.

Rapper Iggy Azalea recently joined in on the fight for the 2000s pop singer’s justice, but rather than offering just a simple #FreeBritney on Twitter, the star posted a whole Notes app message that shared way more to Spears’ story. The “Fancy” musician even shared to the world that she remembered “personally” witnessing father Jamie Spears’ alleged “abusive” behavior towards his child Britney Spears.

A witness to the abuse?

So what exactly did rapper Iggy Azalea witness from Britney Spears and her father? In a Twitter post, the star captioned her Notes app screenshots with the hashtag that has been trending all over the world: #FreeBritney. She began with: “Its basic human decency to at the very least remove a person Britney has identified as abusive from her life. This should be illegal”.

She then detailed an event from back in 2015 when her and Britney Spears collabed on a song titled “Pretty Girls”, and Azalea witnessed firsthand the “abusive” behavior that the pop singer had spoken up about from her emotional testimony at the conservatorship hearing last week from father Jamie Spears. Iggy Azalea wrote: “I just want to back her up and tell the world that: She is not exaggerating or lying”.

I saw her restricted from even the most bizarre and trivial things: like how many sodas she was allowed to drink. Why is that even necessary?” She added that Jamie Spears “conveniently” waited right before their BMAs performance when she was backstage to tell her that if she did not sign an NDA, she would not be allowed to perform on that stage with her.

“The way he went about getting me to sign a contract, sounded similar to the tactics Britney spoke about last week in regards to her Las Vegas show. Jamie Spears has a habit of making people sign documents while under Duress it seems, and Britney Spears should not be forced to co-exists with that man when she’s made it clear it is negatively impacting her mental health. This is not right at all”, Iggy Azalea finished with.

Last week, thirty-nine-year-old Britney Spears said that her father should be in jail for the way that he’s treated her over the years. The 2000s pop singer also said that he would not allow her to have her birth control device removed, which prevents her from having a child with her boyfriend Sam Asghari. All over social media, her fans are still continuing to speak out for her justice and rights.
