We've had ten years of Twitch streams already. Can you believe it? Celebrate by checking out the most popular personalities in the platform!

Happy Birthday Twitch! Watch the best streams on the platform now

After March 2020 amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, live streaming became one of the world’s most exciting forms of entertainment. Lockdown left live music venues closed and Broadway on an indefinite hold, and live streaming picked up the slack.

While fans couldn’t see their favorite artists perform in person, they could at least remember excitement & the unexpected with live streams, and Twitch was one of the best ways to watch them.

Twitch launched ten years ago this week, and the platform has gone a long way since its inception in the late 2000s. Now Twitch has millions of users who flock to the service to see some of their favorite performers on their live streams every day. To celebrate Twitch’s big ten-year anniversary, we’ve gathered a list of the hottest streams on Twitch right now. Check out the list, then it’s time to tune in.

xQcOW

According to Twitchtracker.com,  xQcOW is the most popular Twitch streamer as of June 2021. If you’re a millennial and feel older than dirt by this information (xQc who?), you’re not alone. However the twenty-five year-old streamer has a cult of zoomers who helped push him to the top.

Félix Lengyel, AKA xQc, AKA xQcOW, rose to the top of the Twitch stream charts thanks to Overwatch, a game which the star used to play professionally. Since then, Lengyel moved to streaming full time on Twitch, and recently signed to Luminosity Gaming as content creator in 2020. The move must have been a good one, as xQc is ranked by some as the hottest stream on Twitch.

TommyInnit

TommyInnit is ranked as the second most popular streamer on Twitchtracker.com, although Twitchmetrics.net ranks the stream at number 1. Either way, TommyInnit, AKA Thomas Simons, has one of the hottest streams on Twitch.

Simons became an internet personality after first launching his YouTube channel in 2013, but the British star has since risen to popularity thanks to his Minecraft-themed videos. Reports say the streamer currently has over 5 million followers, over 50 million views, and nearly 200,000 average viewers.

AuronPlay

AuronPlay comes in fourth on Twitchtracker.com, with over 145 million total views, and over 100,000 average viewers. The Spanish native, born Raúl Álvarez Genes began posting videos on YouTube back in 2006, but following suit with the rest of the top streamers, easily pivoted to live streams on Twitch.

Álvarez Genes began posting videos to YouTube as a hobby, but his growing popularity led the streamer to publish his own books, and gain a massive following on Twitch since joining back in 2019. In 2020, Forbes Spain listed AuronPlay as one of Spain’s top 100 influencers. With such notoriety, AuronPlay is definitely worth a watch.

Ibai

Ibai, like AuronPlay, hails from Spain and is heralded as one of Twitch’s top five most popular streams.

Like most popular Twitch streamers, the twenty-six year-old climbed the ranks on Twitch after getting his start in the gaming world. League of Legends was Ibai’s weapon of choice, and after starting playing in 2014, the Twitch star was narrating big matches by 2016.

However, these days Ibai, AKA Ibai Llanos Garatea, spends nearly all his time on Twitch after becoming a content creator for the G2 Esports team in 2020. In early 2021, Ibai announced his movement from G2 to his own streaming channel, and according to Twitch’s numbers, he’s doing just fine on his own.

We’ve gathered the top streams on Twitch to celebrate the platform’s tenth birthday, but there are seemingly countless channels to explore. What’s your favorite Twitch stream? Let us know in the comments below!
