Chris was born and raised in Kippens, Newfoundland, a small town in Canada. After high school, Chris moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, to attend the Hair Design Center and formally train in hairstyling, which was a step into the professional beauty world. Moving to a bigger city was an eye-opening change for Chris, but it allowed him to immerse himself in a vibrant salon community and take his skills to the next level.

Chris launched his career in Halifax by working at an Aveda-affiliated salon. He traveled to New York City for advanced training workshops to expand his skills. After that, he joined a Bumble and Bumble salon in Halifax as the education coordinator, frequently returning to New York for master classes to refine his techniques and stay ahead of trends.

Chris moved to Toronto in 2009, where he built a clientele and gained a reputation for quality work. During this time, he also ventured into on-set styling by working behind the scenes on popular TV shows (So You Think You Can Dance Canada and Cover Me Canada), which put his skills on display to a national audience and taught him to deliver under high-pressure conditions.

As his portfolio grew, Chris embraced social media to reach a wider audience. He posted photos of his hair transformations on Instagram on a regular basis, which led to a life-changing connection. He quickly gained a following online as people admired the color transformations and modern styles he shared. His posts caught the eye of Tracey Cunningham, a renowned Los Angeles hair colorist to Hollywood stars.

She invited him to spend a day with her at Mèche Salon in Beverly Hills because she was impressed by Chris’s talent. With Tracey’s encouragement, Chris soon decided to relocate to Los Angeles to join the team at Mèche in 2014. It was challenging to get a U.S. work visa and settle into a new city, but Chris made his mark in Los Angeles.

Working at Mèche Salon engaged Chris in Hollywood’s elite beauty scene, where he styled alongside top professionals, film, and TV stars in the salon and on location. It was a dream to thrive in this fast-paced environment that came true. At Mèche, Chris spent five years honing his craft and proved that his Canadian roots posed no barrier to his Hollywood success.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, Chris temporarily returned to Canada. He spent two years in Halifax, Nova Scotia, working at a local salon called Salon 1883 and waiting for the industry to reopen. This time, back home was refreshing, but he remained eager to return to the excitement of Los Angeles as soon as he could. By 2022, he returned to California to start the next chapter of his journey.

Through his career, Chris Greene has earned several notable distinctions. Early on, he was voted Best Hairstylist in Halifax two years in a row (2007 and 2008). He also had his hairstyling work featured in fashion magazines (Flare and Lucky) by introducing his creativity to a wider audience.

Joining Mèche Salon in 2014 marked his entry into the upper echelon of the industry. Working at a salon frequented by Hollywood celebrities was a learning experience and a mark of distinction for Chris. And in 2023, he fulfilled a long-held dream by establishing his own private salon suite in Beverly Hills, which was a milestone that reflects his evolution from ambitious student to accomplished stylist and entrepreneur.

Today, Chris operates out of his own salon suite in Beverly Hills, offering personalized, one-on-one services in a comfortable, upscale setting.
