From cultural attractions to tourist destinations, your Tennessee trip can be perfect with proper planning & execution. To properly plan a journey, one must plan the trip. You can do research to find the best places, but if you plan to visit everything, it could take months or years! So, time to shortlist the very best ones.

Nashville

Nashville proudly owns its heritage of musical & cultural diversity. If you’re a fan of great voices & music, then Nashville has some mind-blowing places for your trip. You can visit sites like: Bridgestone Arena, TPAC Country, and the Music Hall of Fame

Despite music, visual arts are also one of the most popular things about Nashville. Overall, we can say that Nashville has something for everyone. History junkies can spend their day at the Andrew Jackson Hermitage. At the same time, families or thrill-seekers can have an adrenaline-filled day at Dollywood, or attend the Pirates’ Voyage Dinner Show for entertainment and adventure.

Chattanooga

From the Lookout Mountain Cave to America’s largest underground waterfall – Ruby Falls, Chattanooga, this family-friendly vacation city can actually help you forget your sorrows and have an insane amount of fun.

It has an overall historic vibe, so you can learn a lot about Chattanooga & Tennessee in a fun & friendly way. If you’re into history, visit: Hunter Museum of American Art , Creative Discovery (perfect for kids), and the Railroad Museum.

Got love for animals & nature? Check out Tennessee Aquarium, Chattanooga Zoo, and the Tennessee Riverpark!

Kingston

Kingston is one of the most popular vacation spots in Tennessee. Known mainly for summer vacations, Kingston can become your top choice for the best holiday. You can spend your vacation by renting a mini lake house and spending your day having fun activities like swimming or rafting.

There are plenty of tournaments and local events to make summer at Kingston much more appealing, as some of the most popular summer-time events are: Rockin’ the River Fishing, Roane County Bass Tournament, and the Tennessee Medieval Fair.

Even visiting the local farmers’ market would be heavenly!

Clarksville

Regardless of its position as the 5th largest Tennessee city, Clarksville has not forgotten the rustic, old-school vibe. You can think of it as a large city giving a small-town vibe. The historical side of Clarksville is also beaming.

People with families can learn more about the historical importance that this beautiful city holds. You can visit many 1870s buildings and realize the great progress over the years like the Customs House Museum, Roxy Regional Theatre, and the Cultural Center.

Though the city might not have a splash water park like the famous Dollywood, it does have some pretty entertaining outdoor activities like: Clarksville Greenway, Liberty Park, Dunbar Cave, Marina, and the Edith Pettus Park.

Union City

Union City might not be as big as Clarksville. Still, it makes up for its small size by being one of Tennessee’s best family-friendly vacation places. You can start your adventure by stopping at the Blue Basin & the Buck Basin.

These areas have some splendid rentals that allow you to have a perfect vacation experience, and it’s not compulsory to rent a lake house for “fun”. A lot of other places like the Reelfoot Lake Greenway. You can also add an activity during your stay by a heart-healthy expedition at the Reelfoot State Park & the National Wildlife Refuge.

If you like parks, then you are in for a treat! Union City hosts visitors annually coming to visit the world-famous Discovery Park of America. If you’re a native Tennessean, you must know this international icon as the “Mini-Smithsonian.”

The park is spread to 50-acres, boasting 10 excellent exhibit galleries on different themes such as a children exploration area, science & technology, space, and natural history.

It also has a Discovery Center for curious minds and an incredible aquarium that is responsible for the survival of local marine life. Discovery Park of America also houses: 60 feet human body with a slide attached to it, dinosaur fossils, a recreation of 19-century villages, walking trails, and the Discovery Garden for Children.

Columbia

Want to explore what the heart of Tennessee has to say? Go to Columbia! Not Columbia in South America but Columbia in Tennessee.

The city offers an unmatchable standard for sightseers & history buffs looking to learn more about the land of barbecue. The town still gives a really old-school vibe which is perfect for a first-hand experience like: more than 90 buildings at Historic Columbia Square have been standing tall for one whole century.

The streets are strikingly old-fashioned with coarse pathways – an actual representation of old Tennessee and you can add different historical sites in your trip like the Historic Elm Springs Athenaeum Rectory, and the Rippavilla Plantation

People also enjoy different outdoor activities like: cycling, hiking, walking at the Natchez Trace Parkway, fishing or paddling at the Duck River Blueway.

Knoxville

Located north of Maryville, Knoxville is just everything you wish for in a perfect summer holiday. Visit the charming Smoky Mountains while vibing along the Tennessee River.

The farmers market is particularly active during this time of the year. Apart from buying products, you can witness fantastic performances & festivals. Knoxville’s Market Square is a pedestrian zone, so roam around freely!
