On Vuong’s journey, she’s collaborated with superstars and global brands such as Nike, Hypebeast, and Adidas, fearlessly rising to the challenge of every demand, from swift turnarounds to maintaining the vibrant energy on set.
Breaking into the male-dominated film industry was no small feat, and being a Vietnamese-Canadian woman presented challenges. But Vuong has a special talent for working with people by tapping into the talent/cast’s emotions and bringing them out on-camera. She remained motivated to overcome each obstacle by staying true to her roots. Deemed a creative “unicorn,” Vuong’s rare, multifaceted ability to direct, edit, and execute VFX is immeasurably valuable in the industry and has led to numerous opportunities. Vuong’s skill in crafting compelling stories that honor the subject’s authenticity within small timeframes was evident in her 2019 collaboration with Academy Award winner Billie Eilish x Hypebeast/Hypebae. As director, videographer, and editor, Vuong was tasked with creating a video interview that showcased Eilish’s personality. She successfully delivered the video under tight time constraints, and it resulted in 2.5 million views and ranked as one of Hypebae’s most-viewed videos.
While leading Canon Canada’s creative team and conceptualizing a major product launch, Vuong garnered prestigious awards at Canon’s annual awards gala, including the President’s Award in the Leadership Mindset category. Another notable accomplishment was Vuong’s work with HXOUSE as a member of the selective HXOUSE cohort. Selected as HXOUSE’s lead director and editor, Vuong spearheaded several far-reaching initiatives involving high-profile celebrities, ensuring their satisfaction with their portrayals.
