Didn't we already get a trailer for the new 'Spider Man' movie? We did? Find out where you missed Tom Holland swinging on your screen here!

Wait, has Tom Holland’s ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ trailer already dropped?

Turns out, the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home might be a CinemaCon exclusive. At least, that’s the latest rumor going around the Marvel circles. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the trailer of the latest Spider-Man flick to drop, but so far all their bets have been off the mark.

They’ve been setting their eyes on each possible important date but in vain. First, everyone thought the trailer might be released on Tom Holland’s birthday, or director Job Watts’s birthday, but not a drop was shared to quench their thirst. It was even surmised that Peter Parker’s birthday might be the day. Yet, nothing.

Now, fresh rumors are doing rounds in circles online that they will get a glimpse into Tom Holland’s role as Spider-Man at this year’s CinemaCon.

The tale of Spider-Man: No Way Home

When news broke that there will be a Marvel panel at this year’s edition of CinemaCon, everyone jumped to the conclusion that the trailer for MCU’s next spidey flick will be released there. CinemaCon, touted as “the largest and most important gathering of movie theater owners from around the world,” will take place between 23-26 August this year at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Last year, the pandemic put a dent in this convention just like every other event, so everyone is looking forward to the tenth edition of CinemaCon excitedly, to celebrate the moviegoing experience. The organizers have also assured that the venue will follow all the health & safety protocols set forth by the state of Nevada & the city of Las Vegas.

CinemaCon festivities

Among the events that take place at the festival are exclusive Hollywood product presentations, premiere feature screenings, Hollywood actors & panels, among other events one would expect at a film festival. On the third day of the four-day festival, Marvel will have a dedicated panel for an upcoming release.

Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, starring Simu Liu (of Kim’s Convenience fame) as Shang-Chi, in an epic storyline. Other stars include Tony Leung, Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh, Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu, and Ronny Chieng.

So, it’s not surprising that when the Marvel panel was announced with the warning that use of electronic devices would be prohibited, fans immediately thought of the next big thing in the studio’s kitty: the heavily anticipated, upcoming Spider-Man movie. Even with the rumors that the trailer could be debuting at CinemaCon, it’s likely that the trailer won’t be released to the public in the same way.

It’s likely — if the rumors are true and the trailer will indeed be screened at the panel — the trailer will be a CinemaCon exclusive & we won’t be seeing it online for a while. Some people, however, also believe the trailer will be released online soon enough, to avoid low-resolution, ripped versions from making the rounds on the internet.

Spider-Man: No Way Home: What we know so far

Now that we’ve safely put behind the Avengers franchise hangover, Spider-Man seems to be the biggest movie, as it welcomes non-MCU films’ characters, including Alfred Molina (remember Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man 2 antagonising Tobey Maguire?). The list also includes Electro, played by Jamie Foxx, who antagonised Andrew Garfield in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

We still have a lot of questions about the upcoming movie: are Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield joining the cast (After all, we all know not all Spider-Man actors were equally loved)? Is the rumor about Kirsten Dunst, who played Maguire’s love interest Mary Jane in the initial movies, being spotted on the set true?

There are some fun characters we’re hoping to meet as well, including Miles Morales, the animated Spider-Man from the iconic Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse.
