Every highlight from BTS’s “Dynamite” performance at the Grammys
Could you imagine a year without a BTS performance? Thankfully last year was a great year for the Korean Pop Band and now BTS is back and setting their awesome records straight – they’re the best performers no matter who won the Grammys.
On March 14th, the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards welcomed the world-class boy band BTS to the stage amongst other infamous artists like Dua Lipa, Megan Thee Stallion, and Harry Styles. Alongside these artists, BTS was also nominated for the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance of 2020.
Grammys 2021
Though the pandemic is still causing major delays around the world, the Grammy Awards pulled off a dazzling show! According to Vox, the Grammys is known to be one of the best award shows in the music industry and with the help of South African comedian Trevor Noah, they presented a great show with most “A-listers performing to tiny crowds of other A-listers grooving on the sidelines”.
Back in 2017, BTS told Esquire that they’d love to be “nominated and possibly get” a Grammy award. BTS’s RM stated: “I think the Grammys are the last part, like the final part of the whole American journey. So yeah, we’ll see.” And almost four years later the band has continued to surprise themselves in breaking history and giving us performances we will never forget.

BTS is unstoppable!
Yesterday, nobody knows how, but BTS went home without the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award, but they definitely won our hearts with their “Dynamite” performance. ABC news reported that BTS has continued to burst bubbles and make history as the “first K-pop act to perform one of their own songs at the Grammys”.
BTS’s performance in front of Trevor Noah and other A-listers definitely felt like a win for ARMY especially because the band first appeared on the awards show back in 2019 as presenters, and one year later they featured on Lil Nas X’s performance of “Old Town Road”.
Today, we get a chance to appreciate the hard work & talent that these seven singers have shared with us. In fact, BTS performing their hit single “Dynamite” was actually the groups first (full) English song! The band usually sings in Korean with one of two English lyrics, but “Dynamite” reached an all new level last year on Billboard’s top 100 when the song reached No.1 for the same period of time as Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You”.
BTS Dynamite performance will always be amazing & iconic. I wont get tired watching them perform this song over & over again!
They may not won but we know in our hearts they've got that award! We love you @BTS_twt #LightItUpBTS #SetTheNightAlightBTS pic.twitter.com/HSRT8DQJ1f

Exploding performance
BTS may have lost their award to Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande, but the band’s performance of “Dynamite” was one for the books. After Suga’s scary shoulder surgery, ARMY finally had all their band members back on the dance floor: Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook!
BTS took us on quite the journey from the Grammys stage to what we thought was the top of the Los Angeles Convention Center. Moving from the stage to the stairs, nobody had a clue where this was going . . . but did you know they actually recreated the American set all the way from Seoul, South Korea? Talk about brilliant! – the singers actually brought their set to us live and made us believe that they weren’t a couple thousand miles away.
After BTS performed at Seoul’s airport in 2020, should we have seen this coming? They ended their English single dancing & singing to the beat on a rooftop in the middle of the city! Trevor Noah couldn’t believe his eyes watching the performance asking: “Woah, BTS everybody, did you see that?”
