Bingewatch Awards: Vote Best Platform and Best Show
Voting is now open for the Bingewatch Awards. We’re starting as we mean to go on with two important and controversial categories: Best U.S. Streaming Platform and Best Show to Bingewatch.
Make sure you join the conversation over at Twitter. Did we miss your favorite show in our polls? Tweet at us why we should add it to the category.
Best U.S. Streaming Platform
Criterion: Streaming platforms must be available to users in the United States of America.
Your winning platform is the one:
- You’d choose if you could only subscribe to one streaming platform
- That supports the content you love
- That’s easy to use, has great user experience, and makes the best suggestions to you via their algorithm
Current top platforms emphasize bundles, personalization, and value, with free tiers and ad-supported options now part of the mix for many viewers weighing their choices.
How Streaming Has Evolved Since 2019
The landscape has shifted dramatically since the first Bingewatch Awards. Services have multiplied, and bundles such as the Disney Bundle have become standard for households seeking value. FAST channels and free tiers have expanded access, while YouTube now functions as a major television platform for millions. AI-driven recommendations have grown more sophisticated, shaping what viewers see first and how long they stay on a service.
Viewer Priorities in 2026
Recent satisfaction surveys point to clear priorities beyond the original criteria. The Disney Bundle and Crunchyroll often lead in customer satisfaction rankings. Viewers now weigh ad tiers, bundle pricing, and personalization features heavily when deciding where to spend their time and money. Strong user experience and algorithm accuracy remain decisive, especially as competition among platforms intensifies.
Best Show to Bingewatch
Criteria: Each show must have had a season air or have dropped on a U.S. streaming platform recently. Its most recent season must be available to watch on any U.S. territory streaming platform, available without incurring an additional fee.
Your winning show is the one:
- That keeps you awake at night and helps you get up in the morning
- Whose cast & crew you love the most
- Whose narrative makes a quick viewing turn into a bingewatching session
Shows must have a recent season available on a U.S. platform. Acclaimed titles from the current cycle, such as The Pitt and Hacks, illustrate the range of programming that keeps viewers glued across services.
The Rise of Binge Culture in the Streaming Era
Binge-watching gained definition during the Netflix era, when full seasons dropped at once and viewers consumed episodes back-to-back. That model spread quickly. Surveys now show many viewers still prefer finishing a season in a concentrated stretch, even as weekly releases have returned for some prestige titles. The habit persists because platforms continue to reward extended sessions with autoplay and personalized queues.
Fandom Power in the Digital Age
Fandoms remain a driving force. Online communities shape Emmy buzz, push campaigns for renewal, and influence how shows are discussed and remembered. Viewer-driven conversations continue to surface overlooked titles and pressure platforms to listen. The same energy that once filled Twitter threads now fuels group watches, reaction videos, and organized voting pushes across multiple platforms.
