Well, folks, it happened once more. After a special re-release event in China, James Cameron’s 2009 spectacle Avatar has once again claimed the title of the highest-grossing film worldwide, dethroning 2019’s Avengers: Endgame after it had ended Avatar’s ten-year run two years ago.
With sequels for both these massive hits already in the pipe, it’s clear these two movies will continue to take turns in that coveted role of “highest-grossing film”, as Disney will see to it that both films get their fair share of re-releases for promotional purposes.
