Tom Fontana to create and showrun Vatican drama series

Variety reports that Oz creator Tom Fontana is set to create and showrun a new Vatican drama series.

The project is based on Emanuele Midolo’s forthcoming novel The Devil’s Business.

Fabel Entertainment scored the book rights.

The novel is set to publish via Century in June 2028 and centers on Archbishop Paul Marcinkus.
