All the most cringey parts of that Taylor Swift / Capital One tie-in

Taylor Swift seemed to only shoot her star higher with her recent tour, and its not difficult to see why when you know where the money is coming from. It turns out Capital One is more than just a bank, they are also a Swifty! The recent commercial in which they included the superstar is still the talk of the Swift kingdom and its time to dive into the deeper details as her album also continues to rise up the charts. 

The partnership

Since 2019, Taylor Swift and Capital One have been working together on various projects. Swift became the face and soundtrack of Capital One as part of the multi-year deal, providing cardholders with special benefits. The collaboration promoted Capital One’s goods and services while giving fans exclusive access to her music and events.

The Capital One Venture Card has a $395 yearly fee, but cardholders get Priority Pass lounge access and up to $300 in statement credits for travel booked through Capital One Travel. Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, her first tour since 2018, was presented by Capital One in 2022. Due to the partnership, holders of Capital One credit cards were able to purchase tour tickets at an exclusive presale. 

Capital One cards allowed fans to purchase tickets for her shows, and some even applied for cards beforehand to get access to exclusive goods.

The commercial

Taylor Swift and Capital One’s collaboration has been successful, giving fans access to her music and events only. Taylor Swift will be the star of a new advertisement for Capital One in November 2022 called “Multiple Taylors,” which was developed in collaboration with the Austin-based agency GSD&M. 

Swift appeared in several different roles in the commercial for Capital One’s Savor Card, including bartender and diner waitress, showcasing her many alter egos and iconic looks throughout her career. The advertisement generated a lot of discussion on social media sites, such as Reddit, where it received mixed reviews. The ad promoted Capital One’s Savor Card to Swift fans as part of their ongoing collaboration with the well-known singer-songwriter.

Since its release on October 21st, 2022, Midnights, Taylor Swift’s tenth studio album, has become a sensation in the music industry. The late-night recording of the album is a true representation of the Grammy-winning artist’s reflective and imaginative mind.

Swift’s most recent albums, Folklore and Evermore, which featured the singer experimenting with a more alternative and indie sound, are a departure from Midnights. On the song “End Of The World,” which has been praised for its haunting and lovely melody, Lana Del Rey collaborated with Midnights. Jack Antonoff, who previously collaborated with Swift on her albums 1989 and Lover, produced the album.
