Divorce drama: Did Jenna Dewan just reveal why she left Channing Tatum?
It was shocking news for the world when Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan, who met and fell in love after starring in the hit dance-drama Step Up, announced their separation and divorce back in April of 2018. While the two mostly kept their private matters hush-hush these past years, it seems that Jenna Dewan is finally spilling some details surrounding their relationship. Read about what she had to say recently here.
Taking care of the kids
While it’s been some time since the shocking split and divorce of stars Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan, Jenna Dewan took to the Dear Gabby podcast to reflect on her experiences as a mother throughout the years. On the podcast, the forty-year-old actress and singer reflected on how her experiences as a mother has differed when reflecting on her child with Channing Tatum and the child she had recently with fiancé Steve Kazee.
Back in March of 2020, in the very beginning of the global COVID-19 pandemic, Jenna Dewan & Steve Kazee gave birth to an adorable baby boy named Callum, and had tons of family bonding time while quarantined together. However, the star added that this was far from the case when she remembered her experiences with her now eight-year-old daughter Everly whom she shares with ex-husband Channing Tatum.
She remembered that the duo had brought Evie into the world in May of 2013 together in London, where Channing Tatum had been on set for the movie Jupiter Ascending. While this was surely a happy moment for the family, their busy work schedules soon got in the way of their blissfulness. She soon left for Canada to film Witches of East End in early July that year, and being left “without a partner” definitely took a toll on her.
Not the best parenting experience
Jenna Dewan recalled that she had to travel with the daughter she shared with Channing Tatum most of the time, as the actor “wasn’t available to be with us for the most part” due to his hectic work schedule filming from London to Chicago during that summer. “So, it was me, my doula, and Evie all by ourselves traveling at six weeks”, the actress recalled, as it was difficult for her to balance a baby with her busy work life.
The actress and dancer admitted: “That was really hard because [of the] long hours,” she said. “I did have her on set with me constantly. It was just really difficult”, and the stress led to “a lot of postpartum anxiety”. She added: “I just never stopped. You’re up a couple times in the night and then you’re working all day. I was breastfeeding. I was pumping. I was without a partner. I mean it was just craziness”.
Could this hectic work schedule between the two be the true reason behind the divorce of Channing Tatum & Jenna Dewan? Well, it seems highly likely, as eventually, in April of 2018, the couple announced their separation, and the actress filed for divorce six months later. In October, she began dating Kazee, and reflected that when their baby boy was born last March, the star felt “so grounded”.
“Even though the world was crazy, I was home and in this love nest and it was different”, she said of her beautiful family. On Monday, Jenna Dewan even shared some photos of both of her children onto her Twitter account. The star held both of her kids as they splashed around in a pool together, and Everly was seen yelling and having a joyful time.
The caption to the happy pics read: “Any parent knows this is a baby miracle right here . . . All looking all smiling!” How adorable!
