Who will star in the new ‘Super Mario Bros.’ movies?
Video game movies. Just those three words send a collective cringe to everyone reading this. Has there ever been a good video game movie? Looking all the way back to the 1993 Super Mario Bros. movie, starring Bob Hoskins & John Leguizamo as the Mario brothers, video game movies just have never had a good reputation, even as Hollywood keeps trying to make them work.
Video game movies never work. It’s like a curse on their crops. Even the semi-good ones like Resident Evil disappoint us eventually. Now, however, there’s another attempt at making a Nintendo movie with an animated Super Mario Bros. The film stars Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, and Jack Black as Bowser.
The cast rounds out with Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike. It’s happening. It’s coming. You can not escape. So come cry with the rest of the internet over the upcoming Super Mario Bros. movie with some of the best online reactions we can find.

What I’m gathering from the Mario movie discussion is that none of you are joking and everything I’m reading is actually fucking real.
