The ultimate list of ‘Scream’ killers throughout the franchise

The Scream movie franchise is one of the most enduring horror movie franchises of all time, and it’s no surprise why – the iconic masked killer known as Ghostface has been haunting our nightmares since 1996. But who are the mysterious people behind the mask? 

In this article, we’ll take a look at a list of all the killers featured in the Scream movies over the years!

Billy Loomis – Scream (1996)

Billy was revealed to be one of Ghostface’s first victims in the original Scream movie. He was played by newcomer Skeet Ulrich and had a personal vendetta against Sidney Prescott that pushed him over the edge. His accomplice was fellow classmate Stu Macher, played by Matthew Lillard.

Stu Macher – Scream (1996)

As mentioned above, Stu was Billy’s partner in crime and assisted him with his plan to murder everyone in town. He was portrayed by Matthew Lillard and provided some much-needed comic relief in an otherwise dark movie.

Roman Bridger – Scream 3 (2000)

Roman Bridger made his debut as Ghostface in Scream 3 and was played by Unknown actor Scott Foley. He was revealed to be Sidney’s half-brother and had observed her entire life until he felt compelled to act out against her through murder.

Jill Roberts – Scream 4 (2011)

Jill Roberts came into being as Ghostface during Scream 4, which saw her get haunted by her own past actions. She was portrayed by Emma Roberts and targeted Sidney due to old grudges she held against her. Despite being revealed early on in the movie, Jill managed to still keep us guessing until the end!

Charlie Walker – Scream 4 (2011)

Charlie Walker became Ghostface for a brief period of time during Scream 4 when Jill convinced him it would be fun to continue tormenting Sidney together. He also wanted revenge for being rejected by her years ago which led him down a dark path toward murder. Charlie was portrayed by Rory Culkin.

Mrs. Loomis – Scream 2, 3 & 4

Mrs. Loomis made multiple appearances throughout all four entries of the franchise, most notably coming face-to-face with the protagonist on various occasions. Her motive was getting revenge for her son Billy’s death. She went on a  killing spree with large number of victims including Maureen Evans & Mark Kincaid among others. 

She was presumed dead after a failed attempt to drown herself end Scream 2 but returned later entries under the guise of “Peggy Lourdes” – complete costume accessories!

Dewey Riley – Scream 2, 3 & 4

Deputy Dewey earned fans the entirety franchise appearing in various forms of ghostly figure background scenes while serving the police force in Woodsboro! Eventually, he became a key character final confrontation with Sidney’s biggest enemy, Mrs. Loomis. 

Throughout the course of the story, he developed a romantic relationship with Gale Weathers becoming a central part ultimately ending in a horror spree once the final credits rolled.

Mrs. Jones – Scream 3 & 4

While previous killers were largely motivated by hatred-based personal issues, Mrs. Jones’s role puts twist things featuring a mother determined to redeem failures raising two children security guard night shift. Despite having a clear motive, unfortunately, couldn’t successfully task due to the involvement of difficult issues such as alcoholism and drugs leading eventual downfall of end fourth installment series.
