Look out world! Here’s where to watch ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ season 13
RuPaul’s Drag Race is throwing an epic New Year’s party at the top of 2021.
Who said thirteen was an unlucky number? Drag Race tapped a baker’s dozen of queens for a thirteenth legendary season. “Competing safely and fiercely, our 13 queens proved that it takes more than a global pandemic to keep a good queen down,” says Mama Ru.
Fiercely done
Season 13 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, the Emmy-winning competition series, premiers across six TV networks for the first time in its twelve-year “herstory”, with VH1, the CW, MTV, MTV2, PopTV, and Logo airing the first episode simultaneously. With its showing on the CW, the move marks the broadcast TV debut of RuPaul’s Drag Race, which launched all past seasons on either Logo or VH1 – both cable networks.
Season 13 premieres on New Year’s Day and the cast includes the series’s first trans male contestant, as well as a number of queens with connection to Ru Girls past: Kandy Muse is Aja’s drag daughter, Kahmora Hall is Soju’s drag mother, and Rosé & Jan are in a girl group together, among others.
The first episode is set to reveal a shocking, big lip-sync twist. (You didn’t think there’d be a twist? New year, same Ru.) Upon entering the Werk Room, all thirteen new queens will be going wig-to-wig over six lip-sync duels on the main stage.
Top of the tower
RuPaul’s Drag Race‘s season 13 premiere comes on the heels of one of the most successful years for the franchise in history, following season 12, All-Stars 5, and the premiere of both Canada’s Drag Race & Drag Race Holland.
In September, RuPaul won his fifth Emmy for hosting the show, while the program became the most-decorated reality competition series in history at the Television Academy’s 2020 ceremony.
RuPaul’s Drag Race season 13 premieres January 1, 2021 at 8 p.m. local time on VH1, MTV, MTV2, the CW, PopTV, & Logo, followed by aftershow Untucked at 9:30 p.m. local time.

Utica Queen: From Minneapolis, Utica Queen identifies as a “wacky, wavy inflatable arm-tube queen” – which, let’s face it, slays.
