Why you should enter The PAGE International Screenwriting Awards
The PAGE International Screenwriting Awards is on the hunt for undiscovered talent. The competition, now in its 17th year, gets your script in front of the top names in Hollywood that can get your work in the spotlight you’ve been dying for.
Of course, there’s only 10 days left for you to get your shot, as the final deadline is April 20th. So if you’ve been sitting on a script, looking for the chance to get it out in the world, the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards is calling your name.
Big numbers that matter
So many of these competitions tote around the big prizes they’re offering, but don’t mention how successful their winners have been. Right on the homepage of the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards, you’ll get the success numbers.
Over 150 writers and scripts have been signed to various agencies, and 146 have been hired thanks to the competition. That’s the stories you want to hear from a competition, not the great software you’ll win or the meeting you might get. The PAGE Awards have the results.
Prizes for every genre
So many of these screenwriting competitions only cater to drama writers, yet the big box office pulls are action, comedy, romance, and family. Why shouldn’t writers who fall into these genres get a chance at fame and fortune too?
While you still have to compete against drama writers, and everyone else, for the big bucks, the PAGE Awards is offering first, second, and third-place prizes in the ten genre categories. A cash prize, gift cards, membership to IndiePitch, and an InkTip listing can all be yours if you place within your category.
Don’t worry TV or short writers, you’re still included too. While shorts are not broken up by genre, TV is broken up into drama and comedy pilots. The top three prizes still apply to those categories too, and you have a chance at the grand prize just as much as the feature scripts.
Advising options
Even if you’re worried you won’t place in the top three, or don’t think you stand a chance at the grand prize, the PAGE Awards is still offering advice for those if you’re willing to pay a little more.
Whether you just want some judges’ feedback, or are looking for the perfect logline for your project, there’s several script service packages available for purchase when you submit your script. There’s ways to get help with your script so even if it’s not award-winning, it can be with some tweaking.
No time to waste
The PAGE International Screenwriting Awards closes up April 20th for the 2020 competition. If you’re ready to submit your work, there’s no time to lose. $75 may seem like a lot to submit your script, but when we’re talking about getting you the spotlight you deserve for your work, it’s nothing.
You can submit your script today on the PAGE Awards website, as well as select any additional advising you’d like for your script. This is not an opportunity you want to pass by. Submit your script today!
