Novak Djokovic is back in the hot seat after a model was bribed to get between him and his wife. Dive into the gritty details of the shocking event.

Was tennis star Novak Djokovic tricked into cheating on his wife?

Tennis star Novak Djokovic’s life has been seriously derailed recently after Serbian model Natalija Scekic was bribed to meet up with and seduce him, despite him having a wife. Plagued with guilt, Scekic came forward and divulged the gruesome details. Here’s everything we know about the scandalous event so far.

Natalija Scekic’s admission

In an interview with European magazine Svet&Scandal, Scekic spilled the tea on everything that had gone down with tennis player Novak Djokovic. She told Svet&Scandal she had been lured to a business meeting under the false pretense that it was a business opportunity. Instead, it was an attempt to trick her into seducing Djokovic with hidden cameras recording the whole thing.

Scekic disclosed the details of the plot, which she had been offered 60,000 euros to participate in. “It is true that a guy contacted me,” she said. “I know him from (London) and I considered him a serious guy.”

She continued: “I am familiar with their work and they were good. When he asked me for a date, I thought it was for a business matter. However, as the conversation progressed, I saw that it had nothing to do with my life.”

Events turned sinister

Scekic added: “I thought it was a hidden camera when he told me that I had to seduce Novak and film it, but not to worry because he was already taking care of that. He told me I could get about 60,000 euros for that and a trip wherever I wanted. I laughed, expecting him to say it was a joke, but the man was very serious.”

She explained what happened next: “I felt very offended and humiliated. They were really preparing a hell of a plan. I was told to take Novak somewhere to an intimate place and film it all.”

But Scekic wasn’t having any of this deceptive plan. “At that moment I thought of hitting him, throwing water on him, but I restrained myself because we were in a public place. I gathered my things and left. I hope he didn’t find a girl who wants to do that, because it’s not fair to Novak.”

Interfering with a rocky marriage

To make matters worse, this comes at a time during which Novak Djokovic and his wife, Jelena, have been subject to a number of nasty rumors. The rumors in question started on July 10th when Djokovic and his wife did not publicly celebrate their anniversary as they had the year before.

A source told The Sun at the time that “Jelena has always been Novak’s rock but there is speculation that they could be having problems. To not attend a single Wimbledon match is quite a statement for someone usually so quick to share her pride in his success and how strong they are together.”

But Djokovic’s statements contradicted these rumors. After one victory, he stated: “It’s extra special sharing it with my son in the crowd and my parents, the whole team.” In 2020, he addressed the rumors directly, telling The Sun: “I understand that it is more interesting for people to read Nole and Jelena are getting divorced than Nole and Jelena are in love. But that doesn’t affect Jelena and me because we love each other.”

Why are people so obsessed with Djokovic’s marriage?

In 2017, people started attributing Novak Djokovic’s poor performances to trouble at home. Tennis commentator John McEnroe stated: “Woods had the issues with his wife and then he seemed to go completely off the rails and has never been even close to being the same player. So we’re starting to say: ‘Wait a minute, is this possible with him, Djokovic?’”
