Did Kanye West join Kim Kardashian at the Met Gala? All the Twitter tea

Does anybody recall that one scene with Claire Foy in that 2018 let down of a film The Girl in the Spider’s Web? You know, where her evil sister trapped her in some sort of latex outfit and vacuum sealed her in tight to the point where she can’t breathe? We have to assume this was the inspiration behind Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala look during the 2021 event, in which she seemingly, surprise surprise, matched her ex Ye once again.

Of course, Twitter went into action right away after Kim Kardashian seemingly showed up with a mystery man, decorated in all black with some pantyhose face mask look, leaving many online to assume that she had invited her ex Kanye West to the event. Of course, many also recall how Kim Kardashian also dressed like her ex Kanye during both of his Donda listening parties this summer. But was it actually Kanye behind the mask?

Twitter thinks Kim Kardashian secretly brought her ex-Kanye West as her BDSM Met Gala date, while experts say otherwise. Whose side do you fall on, Twitter or sources close to the situation? You be the judge. 

Did Kanye actually attend?

While many believed Kanye made a surprise appearance at the fashion extravaganza, a source exclusively tells E! News he didn’t attend the event. Instead, the person standing by the KUWTK star’s side in an incognito look was none other than designer Demna Gvasalia, who is the creative director of Balenciaga. As well, regardless of Kanye’s appearance or lack thereof, one source noted how his presence would be felt.

“It was him who introduced Kim to Demna and was instrumental in the newly formed relationship between her and Balenciaga,” the source explains, adding that it’s a new fashion era for Kim, “This look on Kim is like a new subculture and fashion statement. No logo, no face, but everyone knows it’s her. Kanye gave her the courage to push creativity and people’s imagination through art. It’s the ultimate confidence.”

Where does Kim stand on their relationship? 

While the pair have been divorced since February, Kim Kardashian is still clearly making an effort to stay good friends with the “Donda” performer, even offering approval for his previous relationship with model Irina Shayk, which was considered Ye’s bounceback after his divorce with the reality star. Sadly, while that relationship ended as well, we’ll never forget how supportive his ex-wife was of him and his new love. 

Only days after news came out of Kanye West & Irina Shayk, E! News got the hot scoop from a source close to Kim Kardashian regarding her thoughts of this new relationship, stating that “Kim has heard the rumors about Kanye and Irina Shayk and she doesn’t mind at all. If it doesn’t impact her kids, then she doesn’t mind if Kanye dates.” 

A second source close to the situation also noted that, because there is no relationship between Irina Shayk and Kim Kardashian that there is no awkwardness on the part of the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star. “She would like to find someone down to earth and normal,” A source told E!. “She’s not in a rush and is happy being single. Eventually, she would like to find someone again but it has to be the right person.”

As for her current feelings for the rapper after their split, the reality star told Andy Cohen how “That was my friend first and foremost for a long time, so I can’t see that going away. I will forever be Kanye’s biggest fan. He’s the father of my kids. Kanye will always be family.”
