The Karen meme has already made her full lap around the internet, but recently it’s had a resurgence in popularity. Is it because people are hopelessly bored and depressed while in isolation and will do anything to find something to laugh at? Is it because a new type of Karen has emerged in the individuals who think they should be able to do whatever they want, even in the midst of a global crisis? 

Both reasonings are possible. 

Either way, Kate from the reality show Jon and Kate Plus 8 is probably dismayed that the proverbial “Karen” (someone who is entitled and likes to speak to managers) has been somewhat adhered to her image. The original Karen meme was of course modeled after the famous Mean Girls line, “Oh my god, Karen. You can’t just ask people why they’re white.”
