Are Amber Heard and Johnny Depp facing another trial?

Just when you thought it was over, the drama might kick up again. When Johnny Depp first met Amber Heard, they actually took time to get to know each other. Unlike many celeb couples, they didn’t fast-track from dating to the altar within a few weeks of starting their relationship.

Depp & Heard started dating in 2011. It wasn’t until 2015 that the two made it official in a simple civil ceremony 2015. Like many celeb couples, they were divorced before the ink of their marriage certificate had even fully dried just a year later.

In May 2016, Heard accused Depp of having been abusive toward her. It was the first of many allegations that eventually led to the trial of the century. Once again, the ink has barely dried on one agreement and there’s already the chance they may go back to trial.

Mutual slander

Sometimes, relationships end peacefully. There is calm discussion, logical conclusions, and a mature agreement to go their separate ways. Sometimes, though, relationships end dramatically. There are accusations, and arguments, and neither side is willing to walk away without hurting the other first.

The relationship between Johnny Depp & Amber Heard went down in a ball of flames. Heard initially accused Depp of having been abusive. He responded by accusing her of lying for financial gain. Depp later accused Heard of having been abusive toward him instead.

Yet, even with them being combative toward each other, they were still able to reach a settlement in August 2016. Heard even walked back her accusations and described the relationship as toxic & volatile. It seemed like the whole ordeal was over. Then Depp filed the infamous defamation lawsuit.

Trial of misogyny

In 2018, Amber Heard shared details of her alleged abuse at the hands of Johnny Depp. If the 2016 settlement hadn’t included an NDA, it would’ve been fine. However, it did and the NDA prevented them from making public statements about their relationship.

This breach of the legal agreement left Heard vulnerable to Depp to accuse her of defamation in 2019. In April 2022, the trial started. By June, the courts had ruled in Depp’s favor. Unfortunately, it was the court of public opinion that really chewed Heard up.

Despite the mutual nature of their issues, Heard was made out to be a vicious antagonizer. No one stopped considering Depp’s long history of violence & abuse until after the trial ended. He had a volatile relationship with seventeen-year-old Winona Ryder when he was twenty-seven years old. He’s still friends with known abuser Marilyn Manson.

None of this came up during the trial of Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard, though. Instead, the people focused on finding inaccuracies in Heard’s statements and discrepancies in her displays of emotion. They picked her apart looking for any sign that she was lying or putting on a false performance.

People went so far as to create memes of Heard crying. While the nature of their violent behavior seemed to go both ways, the blame for it all was laid at Heard’s feet. Whether or not she was truly lying has yet to be seen, but many had found her guilty before she’d even taken the stand.

Incriminating

2022 must be the year of unsealed legal documents being revealed to the public. Johnny Depp’s trial against Amber Heard might get a sequel due to new information being released. It describes additional accusations made by both sides against each other.

The re-released documents describe the pieces of evidence that never made it to trial. Depp’s team wanted Heard’s nude photos and her history as an exotic dancer shared in court. He also wanted his controversial text conversations with Marilyn Manson expunged from the record.

Heard’s team wanted to share Depp’s history of erectile dysfunction with the court. It’s not exactly tit for tat, with Depp making more self-incriminating requests than Heard. It’s hard to believe the defamation trial could’ve been even messier than it was. That’s Hollywood for you.

Astronaut controversy

Speaking of Tinsel Town, Johnny Depp made a slick reference to his legal battles with Amber Heard. He surprised audience members at the 2022 VMA’s by making a sudden appearance as the iconic moon person. His sly jokes definitely rose a few eyebrows that night.

He took a moment to declare MTV’s need to get back to the f*cking music. He also explained his random appearance by saying he needed the work. This was in reference to Warner Bros releasing him from multiple projects after Heard’s accusations came to light.

Many of his fans were delighted to see him. They felt it was about time for him to return to actively getting industry work. Many others felt it was inappropriate in light of the more recent allegations against him. Regardless, whether he ends up returning to court with Heard has yet to be seen. What has been seen?
