Seeing Billie Eilish in form-fitting clothing is still new. Largely because the “Bad Guy” singer was famous for wearing baggy clothes. She said in an interview with Vogue Australia, “it kind of gives nobody the opportunity to judge what your body looks like. I want layers and layers and layers and I want to be mysterious. You don’t know what’s underneath and you don’t know what’s on top.”

In Oct. 2020, however, a paparazzi photo of Eilish wearing a tank top went viral due to the fact that she was wearing a tank top. That’s it. That’s the story. No one had ever seen Eilish in something so form fitting. In an interview for Vanity Fair earlier this year, Eilish sort of addressed the photo, merely saying that she was glad that it didn’t happen when her relationship with her body was at its worst.

“I think that the people around me were more worried about it than I was, because the reason I used to cut myself was because of my body. I was really, really glad though, mainly, that I’m in this place in my life.” She added, “I thought that I would be the only one dealing with my hatred for my body, but I guess the internet also hates my body. So that’s great.”

In her interview with British Vogue, Billie Eilish admitted that she felt “offended” when she saw all the comments about the infamous tank top photo, even the ones that were praising her. “It made me really offended when people were like, ‘Good for her for feeling comfortable in her bigger skin. Jesus Christ?! Good for me? F*** off!” You tell them, Billie! 

She added, “The more the internet and the world care about somebody that’s doing something they’re not used to, they put it on such a high pedestal that then it’s even worse.” Billie Eilish is definitely not wrong about that. Now, however, she wants to use her fame to help people like her feel more comfortable in their skin. After all, she knows what they’re going through. 

How Billie Eilish is handling things now

In the British Vogue interview, Eilish discussed her decision to wear a corset for the photo shoot, already trying to get ahead of the criticism that she knew was coming. Basically, Billie Eilish admitted that she’s insecure about her stomach and she felt great in the corset. At the end of the day, the singer is all about feeling good in your clothing is what makes clothes look good.

“It’s all about what makes you feel good. If you want to get surgery, go get surgery. If you want to wear a dress that somebody thinks that you look too big wearing, f*** it — if you feel like you look good, you look good.” You tell them, Billie!
