Brad Pitt vs. Angelina Jolie: Does the actress have proof of abuse?
Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt divorced back in 2016. Since then, they’ve spent quite a lot of time in & out of the court system attempting to negotiate custody arrangements for all their kids. Now Angelie Jolie claims to have actual evidence of abuse and has filed court documents accusing Brad Pitt of domestic violence against both her and their children.
Jolie & Pitt are currently engaged in a custody battle that would afford them both 50/50 physical & legal custody. The outcome of these new allegations will have a direct impact on the custody case.

These new court proceedings will give Jolie and all her children the opportunity to speak candidly in court. The divorce
Pitt & Jolie’s 2016 divorce was a media frenzy. At the time Jolie chose to remain silent on the reasons why she ultimately decided to leave Brad Pitt. However, in 2020 during an interview with Vogue, Jolie broke her silence.
She told the magazine that the separation was in the best interest of her family.
“I separated for the well-being of my family. It was the right decision. I continue to focus on their healing. Some have taken advantage of my silence, and the children see lies about themselves in the media, but I remind them that they know their own truth and their own minds. In fact, they are six very brave, very strong young people,” said Jolie.
Brad Pitt has also since shared that he was struggling with alcohol abuse problems. He told GQ that he has since quit drinking because he “doesn’t want to live that way anymore”.
Proof or no proof?
Details about what this alleged proof is are yet to be released to the public. However, that hasn’t stopped people from speculating over the details. It has been suggested that Jolie is in possession of a violent incident that occurred in 2016 between Pitt and Maddox while on a plane.
The Jolie-Pitt clan were on board a private jet on their way back from France. Pitt was allegedly drunk and got into an argument with Jolie. The confrontation allegedly turned physical and Maddox stepped in between Pitt & Jolie to protect his mother. Pitt physically clashed with the teenager instead.
At the time of the incident in 2016, TMZ reported that Brad Pitt was “out of control on the tarmac and even tried to leave in a fuel truck” as their plane stopped for refueling in Minnesota.
Others have speculated that the incident was blown way out of proportion. People magazine reported that a source “close to Brad Pitt” suggested that these new allegations and court proceedings are simply an attempt by Jolie to influence the outcome of their custody battle.
Previous investigations
In 2016, Brad Pit was actually investigated by both the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The superstar actor was facing allegations of child abuse then too directly related to the incident on the plane, but was cleared of all accusations at that time.
At the time said allegations were cleared, Angelina Jolie released a statement about the investigation.
“The job of the DCFS is to make sure the children are in a safe and secure situation. As we said earlier this week, childcare professionals encouraged a legal agreement accepted and signed by both sides that was in the best interest of the children.
“Angelina said from the beginning that she felt she had to take action for the health of the family and is relieved that after their 8-week involvement, the DCFS is now satisfied the safeguards are put in place that will allow the children to heal.”
