There’s been tragic news going on in the music community since the beginning of the week. Joey Jordison, founding former member of the band Slipknot & co-writer of many of their hits, died at the age of forty-six. According to a representative for Jordison & his family, the drummer “died peacefully in his sleep” at home. A cause of death has not been specified at this time.
In a statement released by the family, they said of the deceased drummer, “To those that knew Joey, understood his quick wit, his gentle personality, giant heart, and his love for all things family and music. The family of Joey have asked that friends, fans, and media understandably respect our need for privacy and peace at this incredibly difficult time.” The community has taken to the internet to express sorrow at Jordison’s passing.
