Are these free games for your PC worth playing?
Video games have vastly evolved as a form of entertainment. Free-to-play games significantly raised their popularity over the years and it’s easy to see why. They not only pass the time and sometimes even give you the power to control the stories, but now, they’re so robust. Sometimes, they can feel so real bringing you to the point of feeling like you’re really there, literally in the midst of an unworldly adventure.
Yet, no matter how real things may seem to be, you’re always going to be safe inside your sanctuary at home. We love enjoying our favorite snacks and drinks while playing video games. If you have some vacation time to take advantage of, or simply some time to kill, you can’t go wrong with a free title. And if you’re playing on a PC, all the better.
But today, there’s so many games to choose and sample from which is great but does come with a downside. With so many, it could be daunting to find a game worth downloading. Now yes, as we know, “free” indicates nothing is coming out of your wallet but playing video games will still take up your time. Time shouldn’t be wasted anymore than money. Are these free games for your PC worth playing?
Planetside 2
Merely two years before Destiny came Planetside 2. It’s an all-out epic first-person battle. It’s been said you’ll have a very hard time believing this game doesn’t cost a dime. It does come with in-game purchases which is pretty normal. Sometimes, gamers fall prey to those bait and switch schemes. They’ll download the free game only to find that it was those in-game purchases that made the game worth playing.
Planetside 2 isn’t like that. Even if you’re not paying a single penny, you’ll still be able to enjoy the largest battlefield in gaming and have a remarkable time with your starter equipment. Very little is more thrilling than this free game for your PC.
Imagine taking part in a mass assault on an enemy base and coming out on top. Or living in a world where your enemies may materialize and bloom on the horizon at any moment!
Path of Exile
Maybe you’re more of a fantasy gamer. Path of Exile is a free dungeon crawler. It’s different from most of the best games in 2020. This multiplayer game won’t just be about killing real-life people (their characters we mean), until they scream at you through their headsets.
Path of Exile prides itself on taking its time. They’re more than your standard multiplayer game. There are hidden mechanics to features to unveil after playing for hours. There’s also a massive skill tree to slowly progress through, not to mention having to spend hours farming PoE Currency. Chances are, you’re going to find yourself obsessed.
Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft
We’re huge fans of fantasy games! Of all the games free for your PC, this one might just be your favorite. Have you ever played Magic in Gathering? Hearthstone is Blizzard’s way of building an online version of it, for free. Like all the Blizzard offerings, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is greatly impressive.
It plays fast. The game has a very casual visual approach and utilizes a basic rule set. Everything adds up to a very accessible card battler, giving you an abundance of fun. Any World of Warcraft fan would want in.
Star Wars: The Old Republic
Games for the PC were meant to give everybody joy regardless of their favorite genre. For all the science fiction lovers, comes Star Wars: The Old Republic. It wasn’t intended to be free upon release. But nevertheless, you won’t have to come out of your pocket having adopted the free-to-play model.
This is for when you just want to experience the Star Wars universe through a different set of eyes such as the hyper-professional Imperial Agent and Bounty Hunter. But you could also settle for a generic Jedi Knight. The choice is yours.
