If you’re a fan of true crime, then chances are that you’ve vaguely heard of the Lori Vallow case. Here's everything you need to know.

All the craziest updates in the ongoing Lori Vallow “Cult Mom” case

If you’re a fan of true crime or just interested in interesting mysteries, then chances are that you’ve vaguely heard of the Lori Vallow case. In Nov. 2019, people have not seen Lori’s children Tylee Ryan and J.J. Vallow for weeks. The two were last seen on Sept. 23, 2019. When questioned by police Lori Vallow and her husband Chad Daybell lied to the police, who quickly sussed out the truth.

Shortly after, Vallow and Daybell disappeared, abandoning a storage unit full of the children’s belongings, and weren’t found until Jan. 2020 in Hawaii. J.J. and Tylee remain missing and their whereabouts unknown. Vallow has since been extradited back to Idaho from Hawaii and is currently in jail on a $1 million USD bond.

Compounding things is that Vallow and Daybell have some strange beliefs, namely centered around the end of days. Daybell, many say, is a cult leader. Vallow herself was quite active in this odd belief system as well.

That’s, of course, a highly condensed version. For those following the Lori Vallow case, here are some of the craziest updates that have happened.

What is the latest news about the Lori Vallow case?

Currently, Vallow has recently been denied a request for a reduction in her $1 million USD bail by a judge. No local bail bonds companies are willing to work with her, possibly due to her escape to Hawaii.

With the investigation ongoing and prosecution, presumably, pending that’s the most recent news in the case. Many people believe that Tylee and J.J. are both dead, which seems like the most tragic and likeliest scenario at this point.

Why?

When JJ and Tylee disappeared, the issue of their custody was being disputed by Melani Bourdreaux Pawlowski, Lori Vallow’s niece. Now, however, Pawlowski said that Vallow was becoming increasingly unhinged in her beliefs. The reason why the children may be missing could be . . . possession or zombie.

Talking to KUTV, Pawlowski said the following to her husband.

“She explained zombies and her fears about what Chad and Lori stated concerning the original spirits being caught in limbo until the body’s death. She stated that Brandon had been possessed by a demon or another dark entity sometime after June of this year. She was told either through revelation or by Chad that something needed to happen to (Boudreaux) in order for his spirit to progress and for the Lord’s plan to continue. She didn’t take well to the idea of her husband dying as part of the Lord’s plan, but didn’t think action would be taken by anyone.”

Vallow’s husband, Charles, was shot to death by her brother, Alex Cox, months ago. The death was under investigation in March 2020. Four months after Charles Vallow died and two weeks after the death of Daybell’s wife due to “natural causes”, Vallow and Daybell wed. This was during the time when the children presumably also went missing (between Sept. 2019 and Nov. 2019 when it was reported).

What’s next?

Police are still investigating Tylee and J.J.’s disappearance at this time. The hope is that the children are found alive and well, but it looks increasingly unlikely. All Vallow is charged with is desertion and nonsupport of dependent children along with failure to produce said children with a court order.

Right now, it’s a waiting game to see what kind of odd twists and turns will present themselves with the case. If further charges will be added is also being reviewed and possibly likely.
