Tell us about the origins of xFyro. How did the company get its start?

Our founders are engineers and musicians who came together in 2016 to serve all music lovers by offering top-quality audio products at reasonable prices. No frills nor gimmicks, just great technology and sound.

What is your mission as a company?

As a company, we only serve one mission: combining cutting-edge audio technology with style and quality and offering it to the world at an affordable price.

You have offices in New York, Los Angeles, and Hong Kong. What impact does working in all those places have on your products?

The impact of holding offices in New York, Los Angeles, and Hong Kong is that all those cities are thriving metropolises with incredible culture, talent, and personality. Each city is unique and contributes something special to the xFyro brand and its products. Our presence in Los Angeles allows us to tap into world-class musicians and audio talent to make products that sound great. While New York allows us to be in touch with the latest in fashion, design, and helps us create beautiful looking products. Finally, our Hong Kong base allows us to be well connected to the world’s consumer electronics manufacturing hub, China, so that we can create high quality products for an affordable price.

Why did xFyro choose to focus on earbuds instead of other forms of audio gear?

xFyro focuses on earbuds since it was one of the pioneers in terms of wireless earbuds. Back in 2016, xFyro launched its first wireless earbud before Apple had even launched the AirPods!

Our staff is primarily composed of engineers

What kinds of music inspire the design of your earbuds?

Given our New York and Los Angeles connection, we draw inspiration from American pop culture and our earbuds are best suited for American pop music and including hip hop, R&B, and electronic music.

Your newest product, xFyro ANC earbuds, uses AI-powered noise cancellation. How would you describe the difference between your tech and traditional noise cancellation to a layman?

Yes it does! The AI powered tech enables us to activate a safety feature in the earbud that still allows the user to hear certain sounds, such as a fire alarm, or a car coming towards them. Our algorithms are able to detect and pass along these sounds even with ANC activated, for the safety of the user.

What other new features are present in the ANC earbuds?

Another core feature is transparency mode which allows the user to keep their earbuds on while speaking to someone else! This mode will automatically amplify human voices.

Why is it important for the earbuds to be water resistant?

We made them waterproof because it would be a shame for any of our customers to damage their earbuds when they get caught in the rain one day. We also wanted to allow our customers to have maximum flexibility in terms of using the earbuds whenever they want, whether in the shower or going for a run in the rain.

Another technical question: How would you describe burn-in to someone who’s new to the world of audiophiles?

The best analogy for headphone burn in is “breaking” in shoes. When you get a new pair of shoes, they might not be comfortable. In fact, they might be painful! But after a few days of wearing them, they’ll probably get more and more comfortable. The same is true for high-end audio products like xFyro’s earbuds. These earbuds may need to be played for dozens of hours before they are able to achieve their optimal level of audio quality.

Are there earbuds that are better for specific kinds of music or audio?

Yes, certain earbuds are optimized for certain types of music or audio! For example, Bass heavy earbuds might be best suited for those who enjoy

Electronic Dance Music or Hip Hop.

How do you keep high tech earbuds at a price point the average consumer can afford?

We minimize our marketing spend! Big brands spend a ton on marketing and they add all those costs to their price. We prefer minimizing marketing and passing along those savings to our customers so that we can grow via word of mouth by keeping our prices as affordable as possible!

You compete in a crowded space with major companies like Apple. How do you stay competitive as a company?

We rely on our community, quality of our product, and our lower prices in order to compete with giant brands that spend a ton on marketing!

What is something most people misunderstand about headphones and audio quality?

Most people don’t realize how important it is to get a perfect seal when they place their earbuds in their ears. This causes a variety of issues including audio leak and lower audio quality, as well as poorer noise isolation and noise cancellation.

With that in mind, how can people get the most out of their xFyro ANC earbuds?

It is very important to test the various sizes of ear tips that come with the xFyro ANC earbud in order to choose the right size that can form a perfect seal in your ears.

Can we ever expect to see over the ear headphones or full size speakers from xFyro?

Yes, those products are under development and we expect them to be launched in the next few years! As a smaller company, our product development timelines are much longer than some of the larger companies.
