Top 10 NFL Matches Of The 2021/2022 Season
10 unmissable matches from this season to rewatch
With only the Super Bowl left to enjoy in the 2021-22 season, we think now is the perfect time to look back at the regular season and rank its 10 best games.
This season has been the longest season on record, with 17 weeks of football played rather than the traditional 16. That means that we have had around 272 games to enjoy this year.
Our task today is to narrow those 272 matches down, to the 10 very best. Which matches would make your Top 10?
#10 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Dallas Cowboys – Week 1
The only reason that this match is so low on this list is that it happened on Week 1, so there was very little jeopardy involved. Otherwise, this was a fantastic match.
We could quite happily write a whole book on Dak Prescott’s performance in that match. We had all been waiting over a year for his return and he did not disappoint.
#9 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Los Angeles Rams – Week 3
Who knew that this lineup was going to be repeated in the playoffs later in the year – we certainly wouldn’t have guessed it. We also definitely would not have guessed that the Rams would beat the former Super Bowl champions twice in one season.
This was the first match where we really got to see what Matthew Stafford could do – and we loved it!
#8 – Cleveland Browns vs Baltimore Ravens – Week 12
We love a divisional derby, and this one from the AFC North was particularly interesting. Both teams have played second fiddle to the Steelers for a long time now and many thought that this might be the deciding match to choose the division winner this year.
Not only was this match incredibly close, but tensions were running high too – thank goodness these teams have never met in the playoffs.
#7 – Washington Football Team vs Carolina Panthers – Week 11
Here are two reasons why we were so fascinated by this match-up.
Firstly, Washington’s coach Ron Rivera was fired by the Panthers in 2019 and this was his first time back to the stadium. We guess he showed them that he was doing better without them…
Secondly, both teams have had a change of quarterback this year. Seeing this change in dynamic is always interesting.
#6 – Kansas City Chiefs vs Baltimore Ravens – Week 2
All we have to say about this match is – Patrick Mahomes vs Lamar Jackson. This was a high scoring match that only had one point in it.
We see Patrick Mahomes lose so infrequently now, that any time that happens it becomes a huge talking point.
#5 – Buffalo Bills vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Week 17
This match featured last year’s Super Bowl winners vs a team that we now know could be taking that silverware home this year. Check out the Super Bowl odds for the Bills and the Bengals here.
In this match, Brady threw his 700th Touchdown Pass, and little did we know that this would be his last ever regular season match.
#4 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs New England Patriots – Week 4
Speaking of Tom Brady, even as a neutral, it is entertaining to watch him play against his old team. Especially when the match was that close and when it was Brady that walked away with the victory.
After this match, ESPN even predicted that this would be the lineup for this year’s Super Bowl. We wouldn’t have gone that far, but we wouldn’t have guessed the lineup correctly either.
#3 – Detroit Lions vs Minnesota Vikings – Week 13
No one likes to see a team lose every single match in one season. That really doesn’t line up with the spirit of the NFL. We want the competition to be as competitive as possible.
So, we have to say that we were incredibly happy to see the Lions get their first victory in Week 13. If you are having a bad day, just watch the players’ reactions to their win.
#2 – Detroit Lions vs Los Angeles Rams – Week 7
Matthew Stafford is having the best season of his life after leaving the Lions in 2021 (after 12 years with the team).
We are so happy to see him thriving and this match was a joy to watch for everyone. Even the Lions fans looked proud of him.
#1 – Jacksonville Jaguars vs New York Jets – Week 16
We couldn’t wait for this match because we wanted to see how well Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson would play against each other – as they were the first two picks in the Draft this year. This match did not disappoint at all.
The match was close the whole way through, but the Jets snatched victory in the final quarter.

Week 16 of the NFL this year gave us a chance to see the number 1 and 2 picks from the 2021 Draft play against each other. The match was close throughout, but the Jets pulled away at the very end.
What was your best match for the 2021-22 season?
