Still upset over the CW’s ‘Powerpuff Girls’? Revisit the disastrous 2016 version
People need to stop messing with The Powerpuff Girls. The original series was lightning in a bottle, capturing the minds of children across the globe. It showed that little girls had the power to kick just as much butt as anyone else, which was hugely empowering. The Powerpuff Girls, however, has had a rough, rough run of revivals in the recent years though.
Oh yes, there’s that terrible, no good live-action sequel series that the CW is trying desperately to rework after filming a terrible pilot. Have you read the script? It’s so bad. The Powerpuff Girls even bashed the OG show, which, what the heck, show? It’s better than you. Now, people on Twitter are talking about the 2016 reboot of The Powerpuff Girls, which was seen as also a blight on the fandom.
So, you know, maybe we should stop remaking The Powerpuff Girls? Twitter, however, is majorly reminiscing on it. And now the real question is: which is worse, the CW pilot or the 2016 Powerpuff Girls?
Yeah, PPG 2016 is no longer the worst thing the Powerpuff Girls IP has been attached to. That at least tried to maintain the spirit and tone of the original series, even if it didn't quite hit the nail on the head.

At the very least, the 2016 Powerpuff Girls tried to recapture the spirit. It didn’t succeed, but they tried.
I'm just wondering why did they even bother bringing back the Powerpuff Girls anyway.
2016 clearly wasn't for the fans. And the CW Show I ain't too skippy on either. Dance Pantsed was oookay cause at least it had respect for the OG in a way. But eugh.

Who are these series even for? Like a new generation? They hate these things just as much as the old fans do.
Ya know, I despised Powerpuff Girls Z when I encountered it as a teen because it just kinda felt like a generic magical girl show with a PPG skin slapped on and didn't quite have the soul of what I liked about PPG, but between PPG 2016 and that CW script, it seems

Moral of the story? Give the anime version a chance.
Like so much of Powerpuff girls charm and humor is based in the visual gags and composition of shots that are achievable only in animation or high budgeted movies I really do wonder what the cw is going to bring, like even the 2016 couldn't maintain a solid style to make it work
