‘Money Heist’ season 5: Fan-made trailers we wish were real

Do you find yourself thinking about the last scene in Money Heist between Alicia and the Professor? Does the image of Nairobi falling to her knees haunt you at every turn? Do you hear “Bella Ciao” in your sleep? Join the club. 

Season four of Money Heist left us reeling with major upsets & infuriating cliffhangers. Now we have to wait until next year for season 5 and any peace of mind. We don’t know if we can make it (we can, we just don’t like it).

YouTube is the best place to go when you want to look for any tidbits that might give you a fix of the shows you’re missing. There are some pretty good fan-made videos that get the job done. If you want a taste of some Money Heist drama, here are a few fan-made trailers that are almost as good as the real thing.

Money Heist: India

Here we have a fan-made trailer that casts popular Indian movie stars in the roles of the heist gang. Tamannaah fulfills the role of Tokyo and narrates the trailer as Tokyo did in the first episode of Money Heist when she introduces the members of the motley crew. 

Ajith takes on the role of the cunning Berlin, Vikram gives us a perfect Moscow, Simbu comes in as Denver, Arya is the tech genius Rio, Arvind Swamy & Vijay Sethupathi as the mighty Helsinki & Oslo, Samantha Akkineni as bold Nairobi, and Nayanthara as Raquel. To top it all off, Vijay is cast in the role of the Professor, matching Money Heist director, Alex Rodrigo’s pick when he did an Indian casting, just for fun. 

This fan-made trailer gives us Money Heist action along with a fascinating look at what the show would be like with an Indian twist. Safe to say, we’d be down for a new heist.

Action-packed

Another trailer from an Indian fan, this video is more of a tribute to the stunning action of Money Heist. The trailer ramps us up as we see the Money Heist crew preparing for battle while the song Bang Bang (Sahho Bang) – a song from the soundtrack of the Indian action caper Saaho – builds to a crescendo. 

The trailer tapers off so that right before the screen goes blank we’re treated to Nairobi’s iconic line: “Let the matriarchy begin”. This is one trailer you don’t want to miss.

Only the sharpest cuts

Fan trailers can be a bit on the low-rent side of things, no one expects them to be made by professionals. Yet this fan trailer for Money Heist season 5 is exquisite in its editing, the cuts are made so precisely, so deftly that this trailer is essentially a work of art. 

As the action in the trailer ramps up so does the speed of the cuts, but we’re able to smoothly follow along with the story of the trailer which communicates the intensity of the task taken on by the heist team.

The anthem of the people

While this trailer isn’t the best quality, it makes up for it in its use of playing a haunting rendition of “Bella Ciao”, sung by the professor & Berlin, with clips of the Money Heist. The clips the trailer uses are the most heart wrenching that the show has to offer, driving home the gravity of what the characters have lost during the heists. 

Then the music swells and we’re right where we left off in season four, looking down the barrel of Alicia’s gun.
