You can breathe again: 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' has been positively received by Twitter. Relive the first episode as you read these reactions!

Fans react to ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”s release

Sam & Bucky have arrived! The Falcon and the Winter Soldier debuted today and it’s gotten a pretty warm welcome from MCU fans so far. Like WandaVision before it, the newest Phase Four show shines the spotlight on characters who haven’t been explored too much due to not being any of the main Avengers – and the internet is here for it.

We learned quite a bit in the first episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. We met Sam Wilson’s sister and her failing business. We met Bucky’s psychologist and saw Buck still has nightmares about his time as the Winter Soldier.  We met Sam’s new sidekick, Torres, and saw them in action. We met Bucky’s neighbor and realized Bucky had killed the guy’s son back in his Winter Soldier days.

And then there was the ending, when we met . . . a new Captain America? All this and a James Rhodes cameo too! No wonder Twitter is aflutter with reactions to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Action packed!

To be fair, Bucky got a much more spectacular action sequence in the episode . . . but it was all a dream. Don’t worry, Buck! The Marvel Cinematic Universe always has plenty of set pieces for its characters.

Love at first Torres

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier introduced several new characters to the MCU but it looks like the early favorite is Sam’s military sidekick. Was it the way he low-key worshipped The Falcon?

Close call

Were you as relieved as the rest of us when Torres didn’t die at the hands of the new MCU baddie?

Transitional love

It feels like just yesterday we couldn’t imagine a world without WandaVision. Now we can’t believe The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is only six episodes!

Hail Bucky

Poor Bucky’s mind has been through so much, the nightmare showing him as the murderous Winter Soldier was a pretty effective fake-out.

Foreboding

We can only hope Bucky doesn’t go off the deep end in a similar manner to Wanda’s.

Relatable

Sam went through a lot in this opening chapter of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but the moment he truly connected with all of us was when he got rejected for a loan. Nothing says “average joe” more strongly than having bad credit.

Yikes

There’s no way we make it to the end of the series without having a scene where Bucky confesses his sins to his neighbor, is there?

Oh hi

What’s worse than a creeper? A flying creeper, of course.

Reality check

Who wouldn’t be 100% down for a Daredevil relaunch where Matt Murdock & his team take on the MCU banks?

That smile tho

We get the feeling a lot of Bucky-haters are going to change their minds throughout The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, if they haven’t already.

Off-brand

Hey, you get what you pay for. Betcha this Cap shrinks after the first wash.

Classy Finish

The era of fancy opening credits is dead. Long live the era of fancy closing credits! Now, if only we could get a couple of fun musical numbers for Sam & Bucky . . .
