Will Zendya's MJ die? That's what many might assume in the upcoming 'Spider-Man: No Way Home'. Do Tom Holland and Zendaya have the answers?

Will MJ die? Zendaya and Tom Holland reveal the future of MCU

We are just days away from the release of the much-anticipated Spider-Man: No Way Home, and yet still fans are demanding answers as to just what this new multiverse will include, as well as who might it kill. Now, after the release of multiple trailers and TV spots, many fans of the MCU are curious just who will show up in the Tom Holland & Benedict Cumberbatch-led film.

We already know that Alfred Molina will reprise his role as Doc Ock, a character that first appeared in the 2004 Sam Raimi Spider-Man 2 film. We also know Jamie Foxx will be returning to play Electro, who went head to head with Andrew Garfield’s incarnation of Spider-Man in 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. And don’t think we’re forgetting that Willem Dafoe Green Goblin we saw in the most recent trailer.

However, regardless of the many other surprise cameos were expecting, we cannot set aside the fates of some of the beloved characters already established in this current MCU/Sony Spidey universe, including the likes of Ned & MJ. That being said, after that PTSD moment in the most recent trailer, where we see MJ fall, is it possible that Zendaya’s beloved character will fall to her demise just like all the others? Let’s delve in.

Spider-Man: No Way Home

The third installment of the Tom Holland Spider-Man series, currently set to swing its way into theaters this Thursday, sees Peter Parker dealing with the closing events of 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, in which Mysterio reveals Spider-Man’s real identity to the world.

Peter Parker, in a desperate attempt to erase this truth, seeks the guidance of Stephen Strange in an effort to help him reset the timeline. However, things go awry when Peter tampers with the spell, leaving both Spider-Man & Doctor Strange to deal with the unfolding events within the multiverse, a world in which Doctor Strange admits they know dangerously little about. We seriously cannot wait to see who comes to play!

The film is set to return stars Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei, Zendaya, and Jon Favreau, as well as include appearances from Willem Dafoe, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, J.K. Simmons, Benedict Cumberbatch, as well as a slew of other surprises that we can’t wait to see. However, after a recent interview and multiple teases, might this be Zendaya’s last round as the fan-favorite MJ? We certainly hope not . . .

Zendaya’s last Spider-Man

In reference to the upcoming Spider-Man films, PopBuzz asked both Tom Holland & Zendaya the following: “What do you hope college-age Peter and MJ are doing? What are they studying? And, most importantly, are they still a couple?” Zendaya replied: “Well, we have no idea what the future of us or this Spider-Man franchise is or will be. I think both of us are very grateful for what it has been.”

Zendaya then added: “And, if there’s a world we continue and grow with the characters, that would be beautiful. If it’s a world where someone takes over, I think we’d be grateful and excited for whoever that iteration becomes. I think the possibilities are endless and we’re kind of okay with that.” Tom Holland ended by adding: “You said it perfectly.”

Of course, based on what we’ve seen in recent trailers, we know that MJ has yet another damsel in distress-like fall during the third act of the film, which seemingly takes place at the Statue of Liberty in which fans are expecting Andrew Garfield’s version Spider-Man, who is not even yet been confirmed to be in the film, to save Zendaya’s MJ, a feat in which he could not accomplish in his own universe with his own love, Gwen.
