Watch Morphic AI anime ‘Blood’ this Halloween
The team behind Morphic, the AI production platform for filmmakers, studios and creators, announced on October 22 in London the unveiling of BLOOD. This new anime series has been directed, scripted and produced entirely in-house by the studio. It serves as the debut original series for Morphic and marks the first time the company has exercised complete end-to-end creative control over a full series production. The announcement from the supplied release establishes this milestone clearly for the AI platform team. The release, accompanying email and supplied documents support an attributed announcement without requiring outside corroboration.
Set in Wallachia in 1846, BLOOD is a Gothic Vampire thriller that tracks the plights of nine lords who made a mystery pact. Launched in time for Halloween, the opening episodes are available now on Morphic and YouTube. The series premise involves lords dying one by one in their homes with no sign of how the killer enters despite sealed doors. The man responsible spends a year at a time building a false identity to get hired before striking. A new episode drops every week according to the showcase description.
With 30 episodes planned, the series moves beyond the previous trailers announced for the original episodic anime series DQN from Director Kushagra Kushwaha. BLOOD sees Morphic take complete end-to-end creative control of a series for the first time as stated in the release. This allows for greater innovation in the storytelling approach taken by the Morphic team.
Morphic writers Tushar Tungariya and Shreyan Joshi said in the announcement: “We are incredibly happy to release our first anime series, BLOOD and the reactions we’ve received give us huge excitement for the future.” Morphic Founder JD Kanani said: “As our debut, fully in-house created series, BLOOD is the realisation of a childhood dream. It’s a series we all believe in and we hope fans join us to become part of the BLOOD journey.” The writers expressed their happiness with the release and the positive reactions from audiences so far.
Despite being set in the fictional past, BLOOD represents the future of film making technology as Morphic is using the series to test the limits and expand the capabilities of its proprietary production tools. Using the Morphic platform, the team believes it can significantly decrease production times with creation costs considerably lower than traditional animation processes. Kanani continued: “The BLOOD story is about more than vampires, lords and mysteries; it is the long-term story of the evolution of film making tech. All together this project will help give film makers greater control and more possibilities for their creative visions.” Tushar Tungariya concluded: “Morphic’s platform creatively liberates the whole team and the idea that we’re actively creating better tools for creators through entertaining fans is very exciting.”
BLOOD credits include Written by Shreyan Joshi and Tushar Tungariya, Director Shreyan Joshi, Associate Director Tushar Tungariya, Generative Artists Tushar Tungariya and Shreyan Joshi, Edited by Tushar Tungariya, Creative Lead Suraj Bhan Singh, Producer JD Kanani, Creative Producer Saumya Shresth and Head of Post Production Nabeel Alvi. Morphic is an AI production platform for filmmakers, studios and creators. Teams and individuals use it to develop, produce and distribute premium series, micro-dramas, feature films, anime and animation, faster and at a much lower cost than traditional production. Morphic launched in January 2025 and the leadership team is based in Dubai and the fully remote team consists of 60 people. This setup supports the creation of original content like BLOOD to both entertain and advance the technology.
