‘TharnType 2: 7 Years of Love’: Everything we want from the series
TharnType: The Series has swooped in and stolen our hearts. We can’t stop raving about the cutest couple imaginable! Fans everywhere have been waiting with bated breath, hoping we’ll get more TharnType. Finally our prayers have been answered and it has been confirmed that TharnType 2: 7 Years of Love is coming our way.
For those that need the run-through: TharnType is about two college roommates, Tharn & Type. Type is an in-the-closet homophobe and Tharn is extremely hot & openly gay. Forced to share a tight space together, these two have a lot of conflict but soon love begins to spring forth. The intense bond these two silly, emotive boys share can charm anyone who watches.
What makes TharnType even more exciting is that the two leads, Gulf Kanawut Traipipattanapong & Mew Suppasit Jongcheveevat, also make an adorable couple in real life too. While they call themselves “bros who love each other very much” these two Thai leads have blurred the lines between fiction and reality.
TharnType 2: 7 Years of Love will pick up with the young couple after seven years of their “harmonious but sometimes bickering life.” It is expected that the second season will follow the trajectory of the third book of the source content written by Mame.
From this we know (if the show follows the book) a younger man develops feelings for Type which deeply upsets Tharn. While they don’t break up, Tharn & Type spend some time apart and have to face real problems as working adults. Based on this plot, here are some things we definitely want to see in TharnType 2: 7 Years of Love.
Big leaps in love
Last we left off, TharnType was declaring their undying love for each other. It takes a while for them to get to that point – their love slowly blossoms over season one. But this makes us have to ask what’s next for them? We hope their love pushes the couple to make new steps forward, kicking their relationship up a notch.
Though we know that they will be facing more conflict in season two (which we HATE but also love), we know that they will overcome their challenges together in the end. We’re in for a lot of pain (as usual) but we hope that we’re rewarded with new gestures of their love that come from the conflict.
Cliffhanger endings
We hate to say it – but a part of the thrill of watching TharnType is desperately wanting to know what happens next. Without a doubt, each episode ends at a critical moment, leaving the viewers begging for more.
While we know that drama will certainly ensue, we hope that the creators are able to raise the stakes for us each episode so that we are compelled to keep watching. When they finally ended up having a soft, sweet finale it was well worth the buildup of heartache and suspense. We hope TharnType 2 will continue to leave us hanging.
New love triangles
If TharnType 2 follows the third book, we know that some other man develops feelings for Type. One of the thrilling parts of season one is the complicated competition for the boys’ love. Tharn has his fair share of exes who are not yet finished with him.
TharnType does a great job creating new love triangles that get messy & painful. While it centers on TharnType, we are certainly teased by the other dramas that make a stir in their relationship. We hope that the new love triangles are well fleshed out and push us to see new aspects of TharnType’s fragile yet passionate relationship.
Even though it’s not canon in the book series, fans have been questioning whether the creators will connect two characters in TharnType 2 – Champ (Boat Napat Sinnakuan) and Techno (Mild Suttinut Uengtrakul). Will these other boys find love too?
