In her own words, Sharon says, “I have always been passionate about performing and could be found at an early age dancing and acting in the safety of my home but didn’t actually entertain a public audience until my early twenties, when I returned from living and working in Washington, DC. After my first few performances, I fell in love with acting and this mad but wonderful industry”.

Sharon trained at Rose Bruford College where is now a regular practitioner, running lectures for the students. “There are two people who have been instrumental in my journey so far. One of them is Robert Bastian, one of my first drama teachers, who is sadly no longer with us, but who was a huge influence on me going on to train professionally, and the other is Tony James, my tutor at Rose Bruford, who I learned so much from and continues to be an inspiration and mentor”.

An experienced and versatile actress, Sharon Lawrence has an expansive career that saw her appear in many notable and award-winning films and TV productions, including EastEnders for BBC.
