NCBCP releases exit poll findings on Black voter turnout

The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation will release preliminary findings from an exit poll of Black voters in Georgia, Alabama, Ohio and Florida during its 8:30 p.m. ET Election Night media briefing on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The event focuses on sharing these early results from the four states to provide insight into the priorities and concerns of surveyed Black voters.

Topics in the exit poll included the primary issues impacting Black communities, factors influencing voting decisions, and concerns about threats to personal and family well-being. Such questions seek to reflect the main priorities among Black voters in Georgia, Alabama, Ohio and Florida.

Melanie L. Campbell, NCBCP President and CEO and Black Women’s Roundtable convener, will join coalition leaders and field organizers to present the findings and updates on voter turnout, polling conditions and protection efforts, followed by a media question period.

This briefing forms part of activities at the Unity ’26 Ronald W. Walters National Election Day Command Center, which unites over 40 national and state organizations focused on get-out-the-vote drives, voter protection and democracy defense. Based in Atlanta and Washington, D.C., it links field organizers and networks in Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Mississippi, Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina and additional states. Participants track Black voter turnout, record barriers and intimidation reports, and direct voters to help via 1-866-OUR-VOTE. Activities extend through November 4 and continue monitoring ballot counting and certification into January 2027.

Campbell stated, “In a moment like this, no one organization can protect the Black vote alone. We have been organizing together well before Election Day because protecting our communities means anticipating problems and helping voters prepare. On Election Day we are bringing that collective strength together to turn out voters, respond quickly when their rights are threatened, and fight back against efforts to erase us. Our power is in showing up together and having each other’s backs through voting, counting and whatever comes next.”

The command center is also hosting the Justice Broadcast Network’s The People’s Desk Election Day livestream, with coverage from 7 a.m. Eastern through midnight. Programming includes live check-ins with organizers and poll monitors, conversations with candidates, and analysis of what emerging information means for Black communities. Multiple partner groups take part in delivering this content throughout the day.

The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation operates as a nonpartisan nonprofit focused for 50 years on boosting civic engagement and political participation within Black communities via its network of organizations and grassroots partners. Its Black Women’s Roundtable serves as the empowerment arm dedicated to Black women and girls, emphasizing leadership, civic involvement and policy priorities affecting them and their families.
