How old was Margot Robbie when she was a simp for John Cena?

In recent years, superhero movies have been bringing together unlikely combinations of stars, meaning some actors get to meet people that they otherwise wouldn’t. Take, for instance, upcoming James Gunn film The Suicide Squad. One of the many stars in the film is wrestler and actor John Cena, who got to meet one of his biggest fans on set.
Believe it or not, Margot Robbie was a massive WWE fan, and she had a particular fondness for John Cena. Robbie & Cena went on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote their film, and they spoke with guest host Anthony Anderson about their first time meeting. It turns out that when celebrities meet each other they’re just as un-cool as anyone else meeting one of their heroes – sometimes they can’t talk, sometimes they say too much.

When she was growing up, Margot Robbie spent a ton of time watching WWE. She told Anthony Anderson on Jimmy Kimmel Live that as a kid she particularly loved the Undertaker. As a teenager she fell out of watching, which means she might have missed some of John Cena’s earliest days. He joined the WWE in 2002, when Robbie was about twelve years old.
The cardboard cutout came later. She explained that when she was about twenty years old she “had a boyfriend who was obsessed with John Cena — so much so that he dressed as John Cena for his twenty-first birthday, and had a cardboard cutout of John Cena in his bedroom,” Robbie said in the interview. She added, “So I slept in a room for two years with a life-size cardboard cutout of John Cena in the room”.
Meet-up
When Margot Robbie was sleeping next to Cardboard Cena, she had no idea that someday she would meet the man himself. When she found out they were starring together in The Suicide Squad, she immediately thought back to her years with the cut-out.
“I remember thinking,” Robbie said, “’I wonder if now that I’m going to work with John Cena, should I tell him this or is that going to be weird?’”. She decided not to say anything, thinking it would be too awkward.
Then, “five seconds into meeting him”, she blurted out the story. John Cena completely kept his cool hearing about how a twenty-year-old Margot Robbie had a cardboard version of him in her bedroom for two years. After nearly twenty years in show business, Cena was used to just about everything. “Now I know that there’s very little to weird out this guy,” said Robbie.
Making a movie
Of course, after hearing her somewhat embarrassing story, John Cena still had to shoot a movie with Margot Robbie. The two star in The Suicide Squad as supervillains forced to team-up while fighting as a secret government black-ops group. The film is directed by James Gunn and is just two weeks away from opening in theaters.
When Cena & Robbie told this story on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Anthony Anderson was quick to question why Robbie’s boyfriend would want to sleep with a cardboard cut-out of the WWE star. Cena knew the answer, saying, “I was more than likely wearing jean shorts”. After that, Anderson brought out a life-size cardboard version of Robbie to give Cena a chance to feel what her side of the story was like.
