The worst Karens: These women all act like a coronavirus hurricane
A Karen’s work is never done when there’s a herd of sheeple in masks ready to take away her right to be awful. Sorry that not wanting to die from a terrifying infectious disease is inconvenient for you Karen.
The pandemic has brought many Karens out of the woodwork and provoked a mix of enraging & highly entertaining tantrums. Like a horrifying wreck, we can’t look away when Karen catches the scent of the nearest manager and unleashes her vitriolic tirade. The absurdity of Karen doesn’t mask the destruction that she leaves in her wake. Here are all the Karens that brought down hellfire on some innocent bystanders.
Starbucks Karen
We love Starbucks Karen because through her terrible actions we were able to celebrate a true hero. Like a typical Karen in coronavirus times, Starbucks Karen (aka Amber Lynn Gilles) went to get herself a coffee without wearing a mask. Lenin Guiterrez, the barista on shift, refused to serve her without a mask.
Gilles posted a picture of Guiterrez in the attempt to shame him for refusing her service which backfired in the most marvelous fashion when supporters launched a crowdfunding campaign and amassed over $95,000 in tips to reward him for facing up to Karen.
In a mind-boggling turn of events, Gilles posted a video demanding that she get a cut of the profits and that if she doesn’t she will resort to suing Guiterrez. That’s probably the most Karen we’ve ever seen a Karen Karen.
Trader Joe’s Karen
The Trader Joe’s Karen certainly put on a show when asked to wear a mask in the grocery store. She began screaming at the store employees and insisted she has a “medical breathing condition” and that her doctor told her she shouldn’t wear a mask.
When she was asked again, Trader Joe’s Karen went full tantrum and proceeded to unload the contents of her cart on the floor while screaming expletives at the staff and calling them “Democratic pigs”.
Karen cough-a-lot
Karen just wants to watch the world burn apparently, at least this walking, coughing Karen meme did in a New York bagel shop. A fellow customer noticed that the Karen was coughing, not wearing a mask, and not even covering her mouth with her hand or elbow.
When the customer pointed her out to the staff, Karen became belligerent claiming she had “Covid antibodies” and that meant she was exempt from wearing a mask. Karen then came at the customer and coughed on her which in a pandemic crisis is akin to assault.
Gas station Karen
Gas station Karen is one of the more blatantly despicable moves we’ve seen during the pandemic. Once again Karen was in a public place without a mask and when the attendant told her she had to wear one she responded by spitting at him.
A horrified customer behind the Karen documented the entire exchange. As if essential workers don’t go through enough crap, they now have Karens maliciously endangering their lives.
Mayor Karen
In a terrifying glimpse of what might happen if the Karens seize even more power, Mayor Carolyn Goodman of Las Vegas called for all the casinos to be reopened at the beginning of the quarantine lockdown.
Goodman went on to offer up her own city as “control group” to test whether stay-at-home measures were effective. The idea bewildered public health experts who maintained that social distancing measures were essential to stemming the rise of the virus. Las Vegas officials were also horrified and Goodman was referred to as reckless & embarrassing and labeled by the internet as “a real Karen’s Karen” .
