Filmhub and ND Pictures Ink Distribution Deals with Dreamscape Winners

Prominent streaming distributor Filmhub enters financial licensing deal agreement with the acquisition of two winning films from the inaugural Dreamscape International Film Festival (DIFF).

Films include The Intruder, the debut feature from local Houston filmmaker Jack Brame and winner of Best Micro-Budget and Best Texas Film. This thriller follows a paranoid young man who begins to suspect someone is breaking into his house every night.

And feature film RyDe&DiE by indie veteran Tony Villalobos, which took home the Special Jury Award for this dramatic story about a group of youth on the run with drugs.

Filmhub will release both films for global streaming with Dreamscape Pictures Entertainment, a subsidiary of DIFF, delivering a limited domestic release in over 15 theaters across Texas and California. The Intruder enters into a 3-way deal adding ND Pictures to handle international rights for The Netherlands and West Indies territories.

DIFF also handed student screenwriter Dylan Brown, winner of the DIFF Feature Film Screenplay Competition for his horror script OPUS, a $5,000 cash prize along with a development option for Dreamscape Pictures Entertainment to produce the project.

The Intruder is set for theatrical release in U.S. on November 1, 2024, along with The Netherlands and West Indies on January 30, 2025. RyDe&DiE will release theatrically in the U.S. on January 3rd, 2025. Streaming release date for both films has yet to be announced.

The deals with Filmhub were negotiated and closed on by Acoryé White, CEO of Dreamscape International Film Festival and Anchored Lens Productions, and Greg Maurice, Acquisitions Executive at Filmhub. The international deal with ND Pictures was negotiated and closed by White, Patrycja Kępa, COO of Dreamscape International Film Festival and Anchored Lens Productions, and Andy van Veen, CEO of ND Pictures.

“Dreamscape was able to help these filmmakers secure significant MGs (minimum guarantees or advance pay) for their films,” White shares. “We believe these deals set the stage for film festivals and what should be the goal for filmmakers to achieve as winners. It proves that there is a market for high quality, well-made indie films on a budget.”
