Currently Crowdfunding: ‘The Devil’s Advocate’
Braden Barton and Davide Tomei are playing The Devil’s Advocate in their latest project. Midwestern boys from Illinois, Barton and Tomei recently made the trip to Los Angeles for work.
“A devilish preacher and his gunslinging British assistant hunt down archangels, unaware that they’re about to meet their biggest foe yet: a 16 year-old girl.”
They first worked together on a project known as Unconditional. What began as a modest attempt at a feature film eventually grew into a revenue-generating product on Amazon. This first crowdfunding project ended well, with the film currently on Amazon Prime Video.
The duo also worked on the short film The Carpool, Barton as cinematographer and Tomei as producer. The Carpool has been accepted into nearly a dozen film festivals across the U.S. and gotten more and more eyes on it as the year has progressed.
Braden is no stranger to filmmaking; he worked as a union set lighting technician in Hollywood with companies such as Netflix, Disney, Fox, and Sony. Davide has worked on television productions for Viceland, Netflix, and Facebook.
These are testimonials from Amazon Prime viewers about their past project, Unconditional:
“Kudos to all of the cast, crew and writers it took to make this film. For me it was truly a horror film. I never want to imagine the heartbreak of learning the one I love is actually a stranger.”

With The Devil’s Advocate going into production, Tomei and Barton are on a crowdfunding mission and we want to help. The Devil’s Advocate serves as not only the brand of content they wish to produce moving forward – quirky, dark, twisted, and emotionally compelling – but it will also be the first major production under the banner of their new company.
