We all love and know James Corden as one of the greatest comedians, so what is his net worth looking like? Let's take a look at his career here.

Will Hollywood ever stop casting James Corden? Peek at his net worth

You might know James Corden from his time hosting The Late Late Show, but that has only been a tiny slice of the actor’s career. Corden began acting back in the nineties with small roles in movies & TV shows. His career began taking off in the early aughts as he became known for his comedic chops.

Today, James Corden has a net worth of $70 million. He’s written & starred in successful shows, and, of course, he’s been hosting The Late Late Show since 2015. Corden is an international star, and there’s no sign that he’ll be slowing down anytime soon. Let’s take a look at how James Corden built such an impressive career and net worth.

British worker

James Corden was born in Hillingdon, London on August 22nd, 1978. He began performing at a very early age, and by the time he was eighteen years old, Corden was a working actor. His first role was in the show Out of Tune, a little-known sitcom that ran for three seasons from 1996-1998.

Corden got his second TV role when he was only twenty. Boyz Unlimited was a comedic miniseries about friends trying to start a boy band. It wouldn’t be the last time Corden’s musical abilities benefited his career.

Throughout his twenties, Corden began picking up small movie roles, but it was his TV appearances that won him the most acclaim. He scored a nomination for the Royal Television Society Award for his role in the sitcom Fat Friends

By 2007, Corden was writing & acting on TV in the hit show Gavin & Stacey. His work on Gavin & Stacey launched Corden into mainstream success. The show ran through 2010, winning numerous awards along the way. Corden himself won a BAFTA for Best Male Comedy Performer for his work on the show.

Booming career

After Gavin & Stacey ended, James Corden had more opportunities available to him than ever before. He began hosting TV for the very first time when he joined the British sports-comedy panel game show A League of Their Own. He works as a host on that show to this day, though now he occasionally shares the role because of his commitments with The Late Late Show

In 2011, Corden began hosting Carpool Karaoke, which had begun as a sketch related to Gavin & Stacey. Corden navigates traffic while singing karaoke with different celebrity musicians. The show became a massive online hit. In 2016, Corden’s Carpool Karaoke segment with the singer Adele was the most watched YouTube video of the year.

Later that same year, Apple Music licensed the rights to an adaptation of Carpool Karaoke from Corden. He serves as executive producer on the show instead of hosting it, as his schedule nowadays is too busy for another hosting gig

The Late Late Show

James Corden’s career was already booming, but in 2015, his net worth spiked when he was tapped to host The Late Late Show. Craig Ferguson had hosted the show since 2005, but Corden’s run has been arguably even more successful. His take on The Late Late Show includes its own version of Carpool Karaoke and breaks from some of Ferguson’s formulas.

Hosting The Late Late Show hasn’t stopped Corden from making appearances in movies. Since 2015, he’s taken on nearly a dozen voice acting roles and has starred in big musical productions like Cats. In 2019, Corden signed a new contract with The Late Late Show that earns him between $4 and $5 million a year.

These days, James Corden has a net worth of over $70 million, and his various acting roles and TV appearances earn him roughly $9 million a year. He might not be the highest paid actor in the world, but he’s come a long way since 1996.

Of course, our list of James Corden’s accomplishments barely scratches the surface of the movies & TV shows he’s appeared in – although we’re desperately trying to forget Cats! What was your favorite James Corden appearance? Let us know in the comments!
