Ankama Animations Sets November Launch for Welsh & Shedar on Krosmoz YouTube Channel
Ankama Animations announced from Paris on October 19 2026 the international release schedule for Welsh and Shedar a new 12-episode animated adventure set in the Krosmoz. The series will reach audiences worldwide except Japan on the new Krosmoz YouTube channel. Episode 1 premieres November 5 2026 and Episode 2 follows November 6. After that launch new episodes arrive every Thursday. The announcement also included a launch trailer and highlighted ties between the series and existing Ankama games.
Set in the world of DOFUS Welsh and Shedar centers on Welsh a kind-hearted young cook living peacefully in the village of Brassica. His life changes when the dragon Asalar and the hero Joris arrive. Welsh becomes drawn into a larger conflict that involves the powerful Queen Zabelle and her son Shedar. The story leads him toward discoveries that may reshape his destiny through themes of friendship fate and food.
The series pairs Ankama’s French-created Krosmoz universe with Japanese animation talent through a collaboration with Studio Massket, where the animation work takes place in Japan. “When you’ve spent more than twenty years building a universe, it’s exciting to see what other artists find in it,” said Anthony Roux, also known as ToT, CEO of Ankama, writer and original creator of Welsh & Shedar. “Japanese animation has been part of my imagination for a long time. With Studio Massket, we had the opportunity to create something together within the Krosmoz. Welsh & Shedar carries that encounter, and I’m excited for audiences to discover this new side of our world.”
Episodes for the international release offer Japanese English and French audio tracks along with subtitles in English French Spanish and Portuguese to broaden accessibility for global viewers.
The voice cast features Rikuya Yasuda as Welsh in Japanese with Daniel J. McLean providing the English voice and Sacha Tomassian the French performance. Shedar is voiced in Japanese by Yuki Kaji Kevin Garcia in English and Tom Trouffier in French. Zabelle receives Japanese vocals from Yuko Kaida English from Marissa Lenti and French from Frédérique Tirmont. Joris is performed in Japanese by Makoto Furukawa in English by Elgin David Aponte and in French by Yoann Bellot-Sover. Kahn Karkas has Wataru Takagi in Japanese Kyle Phillips in English and Emmanuel Gradi in French. Bechamel is voiced by Risa Kageyama in Japanese Roo Ryder in English and Laëtitia Godès in French. Mama Caroni features Risa Hayamizu in Japanese Christina Groom in English and Magali Rosensweig in French. Asalar is brought to life in Japanese by Show Hayami in English by Crist Jarrett and in French by Florian Wormser.
The Japanese opening theme Bokura no Miraie is performed by Hironobu Kageyama and Masami Okui. Kageyama also performs the ending theme Omuretsu.
Animation and games remain connected at Ankama and Welsh and Shedar extends that link through an interactive treasure hunt. Codes hidden in episodes unlock in-game quests while clues across multiple episodes form a riddle for viewers to solve. Each new release gives audiences fresh chances to spot clues follow the trail and earn rewards plus exclusive Welsh and Shedar themed items in their favorite games. The reward from Episode 1 is Minikitt an adorable pet players can bring on in-game adventures. Quest codes can be redeemed in DOFUS and DOFUS Retro on PC as well as DOFUS Touch on mobile.

The new Krosmoz YouTube channel serves as a home for Ankama animated worlds and an invitation to explore them further. Alongside Welsh and Shedar the channel features DOFUS Book I Julith the first feature film set in the DOFUS world available in full and for free. The film is set 30 years before the events of the series making it an ideal prequel for viewers preparing for Welsh and Shedar. The channel will also provide lore content and behind-the-scenes looks at Ankama animated productions.
