Exclusive Interview: Rising Artist Mary K

1.) How would you describe your music?

I am a versatile, multicultural, and  multifaceted Artist. Though my favorite music style is Rnb, I sing other styles of music.

Not only do I sing in English, but I also sing in Portuguese, and in Spanish.

2.) Tell us about your latest releases. 

My latest release was an Rnb song called Mr. Criminal that’s based in a real story, in which a Woman falls in love with a Criminal, and risks her own life by trying to protect him…

After realizing that the relationship is not worthy, she leaves him.

3.) Describe your creative process 

My creativity process is very simple.

I write the lyrics and create the melodies, and leave the rest to the producers. I usually work with the most amazing producers, and the songs we make always exceed people’s expectations.

4.) What do you enjoy most about being an artist?

As an artist I get to express myself through songs, I love performing and connecting with people through music, I mean, being an artist is amazing, and I love everything about it.

5.) What is your main inspiration?

I’d say, life… ‘Cos life is very beautiful and usually gives me a lot to write about.

6.) What musician do you admire most and why?

I love singers like Mary J Blige, Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, and Djavan from Brazil, because they are amazing and extremely inspirational.

7.) Peace to you is…

Of extreme importance.

8.) What’s next for you in 2023?

This year I intend to release more music, promote it nationally, and internationally.
