For her, managing everything within a vertical frame posed a significant challenge. She had to learn, unlearn, and relearn shot selections that worked and didn’t work for the vertical format, angles that would best showcase the emotions, environment setting, and overall look of the scene. This was what she had a great time learning, despite it being the most strenuous part of production. She could also share specific examples of shots that worked and didn’t work, and how she overcame these challenges.

While the professional front of Don’t Miss Me When I’m Gone was quite an experience for Muyan, she also found great joy in engaging with the younger cast. Communicating emotionally sensitive topics with adults of different generations, understanding their viewpoints, coping mechanisms, and how to project their behavior was a new and exciting territory for her to explore. This experience made her feel connected and involved, and she enjoyed every moment of it.
