Destress and detox: Try these great recipes for homemade face masks

Face masks can be a great way to relax & refresh your skin. But finding a quality face mask which works for your skin can take time. Face masks have different purposes and not all of them will work for each skin goal.

Some people have skin types which are best for particular ingredients, and other people want something specific to happen with their skin when they use a face mask. Some people want a mask for soothing skin, while others are looking to clear blemishes.

DIY face masks are fun to make. Here are some face mask recipes for a variety of needs and skin types.

Warnings

Before preparing & using these masks or any DIY masks, make sure you are being safe. Some ingredients can irritate skin, so they shouldn’t go directly onto the skin without being mixed with something else. One of these ingredients is lemon.

To avoid getting bacteria into the skin, make sure the ingredients aren’t expired and the masks are used the same day they’re made.

Finally, do a patch test with the masks before applying them all over your face. To do a patch test, put a small amount of the mask to another area of skin such as your arm or neck. Leave the mixture on for a couple minutes to make sure your skin doesn’t get irritated from it.
