Here are Five Steps to Take for a Better Life
Have you ever wondered how you can live a better life? If so, it may be difficult to assess and determine how you can live a better life.
Author of the memoir, “My Song, Unleashed,” and holistic coach Marnie Dachis Marmet understands this, and has provided 5 tips on how you can start living a better life today.
Marnie’s memoir, “My Song, Unleashed,” takes readers through her journey of personal transformation. She now hopes that her journey can help inspire others.
STEP ONE: “Live in the present. Notice all the sights, sounds, smells, feelings around you now and don’t dwell on the past and future,” Marnie Marmet states.
The power of being present is transformative. In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to get caught in a cycle of endless planning and reminiscing. Yet, the present moment is the only space where life truly happens. Embracing it fully can provide a renewed sense of peace and clarity.
So many people struggle with being present in the moment, and are often bogged down, worrying about the future or dwelling on the past. By enjoying more moments as they come, you can better appreciate life.
STEP TWO: Marnie Marmet continues, “Prioritize your self-care. This includes getting regular exercise, eating a balanced diet, getting enough sleep, and managing stress through relaxation techniques or mindfulness.”
Taking care of oneself is not merely a luxury but a necessity. Think of yourself as a vessel. To serve and function at your best, this vessel must be cared for and maintained. It’s not selfish; it’s vital.
It is hard to live a better life if your body isn’t being taken care of the way it needs to be. Adequate sleep, regular exercise and a balanced diet are crucial to being able to live a better life.
STEP THREE: “Nurture relationships with family and friends. Surround yourself with people that uplift you and remove the toxic people from your life,” says Marnie Marmet.
The significance of genuine relationships cannot be overstated. As humans, we are inherently social creatures. Our relationships act as mirrors, reflecting back to us areas of growth and strength. Quality certainly trumps quantity in this aspect.
Having a supportive and uplifting support system around you can help you tremendously. Having people in your life who aren’t supportive or bring constant negativity can drain you. Be conscientious of the people you surround yourself with in life.
STEP FOUR: “Make time for activities that bring you joy. Could be travel, hobbies, sports, time in nature, etc,” continues Marnie Marmet.
Amid our busy schedules, finding moments of pure joy becomes a sacred act. These moments become like oases in a desert, recharging us and reminding us of the beauty that exists beyond our daily grind.
It is easy to zone in on our careers, responsibilities and families. However, it is important that we take time to find and enjoy activities that bring us happiness outside of those circles.
STEP FIVE: “Define what you want to achieve in different areas of your life and set clear, measurable goals,” Marnie Marmet shares.
Envisioning a clear path forward serves as a compass, guiding our decisions and actions. It helps bring focus to our endeavors, ensuring that we’re moving in the direction we truly desire.
Goals allow us to move with purpose and intention in life, which can ultimately make us happier in the long run. When we feel we are accomplishing something, we feel better. These goals can be anything, from making time to go on a trip twice a year to a new place to reading for 30 minutes a day, giving us something concrete to work towards is a great way to live a better life.
