Addicted to gaming? These YouTube channels will be your next fix

Video games are great for a lot of things including stress relief, improving hand-eye coordination, and just plain fun. There’s no shame in being a little addicted to gaming, or an casino online, especially right now with quarantine preventing people from taking part in a lot of other activities.

However, if you’re anything like us, you might have found yourself gaming so hard your hands hurt a little bit, or maybe you have a callus forming on your trigger finger. If your hands need a break, but you still want to immerse yourself in some video games, then we recommend watching some of these YouTube channels.

With this list we tried to give a nod to channels which aren’t the biggest and most well known names in gaming, because odds are you already know the names of the biggest YouTubers around, and there are so many other amazing channels out there which deserve your love.

Let’s Game it Out

This channel currently has about 1.25 million subscribers, so by YouTube standards we feel a little bit like we’re letting you in on a secret right now.

This channel is hosted by the omnipresent disembodied voice of a man named Josh. Now, before you go looking to this channel for full playthroughs, let us explain – Josh does not play games the way most people do. He derives pleasure from messing around to the fullest and most insane extent possible and it delights us every time.

From building a “theme park of perpetual torture” in Planet Coaster to somehow making money in Two Point Hospital without curing anyone Josh somehow manages to make every game hilarious. We recommend this channel always, and especially if you need a laugh.

DougDoug

While the host of this channel spends most of his time on Twitch, he has a YouTube channel which is definitely worth checking out. Especially since sometimes he creates a delightful highlight reel of his Twitch streams so you can enjoy them in twenty minutes rather than five hours.

DougDoug does two things. The first is he “explains games using food”, and while this seems silly, well, it is, but that’s the point. It’s useful for explaining games to people who don’t get it, but it’s even better for making jokes which gamers in-the-know will get a big kick out of.

The second thing DougDoug does is he sometimes allows Twitch chat to play the game he’s streaming. No, really, he coded the whole setup. Other times he’s doing ridiculous challenges. The highlights of these streams are great, but we also recommend checking out his Twitch channel if you have the chance. When you stop by his YouTube page, be sure to check out the video from about a year ago where he attempts to pass a history quiz while playing PUBG.

LazarBeam

If you care about Fortnite even a little bit, then odds are you’ve heard of this YouTuber. This Australian gamer by the name of Lannan also likes to play in an unorthodox manner. Now, a large majority of his videos are of Fortnite, though he did recently go through a pretty big Minecraft phase, so if you’re not into those games, then maybe this isn’t the channel for you – but it still might be.

The thing is, the LazarBeam channel is not about winning. Sure, winning is cool, but the real goal is to have as much fun as humanly possible, and we respect that. Video games are first and foremost about fun and this channel reminds us of that.

So whether or not you care about Fortnite, we can assure you that watching a man stand still on top of a flagpole for the entire game without being seen by competitors is (somehow) an enthralling ride, which will have you giggling in no time. Honestly, in order to make standing it one spot interesting you have to be a really talented content creator, so Lannan more than deserves a spot on this list.

LordMinion777

This channel is more of a typical gaming channel with some full playthroughs broken into multiple videos to make them easy to consume, as well as some sillier videos with smaller games which are only played once.

If the username sounds familiar it’s because the host of this channel, Wade, is good friends with YouTube gamer titan Markiplier. However, despite his ties to Markiplier, the LordMinion777 channel has a much smaller and therefore intimate fan following which can be a pleasant experience.

From an Uno series with over a hundred and twenty parts to a playthrough of the game Marvel’s Spider-Man there’s something for everyone on this channel.
