Boys Holding Hands Returns with Electrifying New Single “Lips” Ahead of Distortion Festival and Copenhagen Pride

Get ready to fall in love all over again. Electronic pop duo Boys Holding Hands is back with “Lips,” their first new single since the release of their acclaimed debut album Things You Feel. The track drops Friday, May 16 on Spotify, Apple Music, and streaming platforms everywhere—and it’s a luscious, synth-soaked banger that reaffirms the duo’s place at the forefront of queer electronic pop.

Formed by real-life couple Ken Orlino and Micki Borneland, Boys Holding Hands is the rare act that combines sonic mastery with genuine romantic chemistry. Their latest offering, Lips, channels the boldness of ‘80s and ‘90s house with a glossy futuristic twist—think: club-ready euphoria with a tender kiss of nostalgia.

With this release, the duo is ramping up for a massive summer, including live sets at Distortion Festival’s Queer Distortion and Afterparty on June 5, and a hotly anticipated return to the Copenhagen Pride stage. For fans of emotionally charged dance music and love stories that bloom across continents, this is the moment.

A Love Letter in Sound

Ken, a New York-based, classically-trained vocalist, and Micki, a Copenhagen-based producer and co-founder of the genre-bending duo Borneland, bridge the Atlantic—both in life and in music. Their sound is lush, layered, and intimate, drawing from Ken’s powerhouse vocals and Micki’s knack for infectious, minimalist production.

Lips” continues their signature style—sleek beats laced with heartfelt vulnerability. It’s a song about yearning and intimacy, perfect for soundtracking both late-night dance floors and early morning comedowns.

This marks their first new track since Things You Feel, their 2024 debut LP, which earned them critical acclaim for its emotional honesty and panoramic sound design. Now, with “Lips,” Boys Holding Hands are teasing a new chapter—one that pulses with love, rhythm, and reinvention.

From Solace to Spotlight

The Boys Holding Hands journey started with their 2023 debut EP Solace, a sonic postcard written across time zones and studio sessions. They made their live debut at Copenhagen Pride 2024, turning heads with their dynamic energy and unmistakable chemistry.

Since then, they’ve brought their DJ sets to clubs and festivals across Europe and North America, including a recent appearance at Sauced NYC’s East Village outpost, which streamed internationally via Sauced Radio.

Their rise has been fast, but it’s also been deeply personal. Every beat they drop is a reflection of the way they love: open, raw, and joyful.
